22.01.2022 Artist Spotlight: Steph Tisdell A name that you’ve no doubt seen rising through the ranks over the past few years, we’re celebrating the success of our 2014 winner Steph Tisdell. A proud Ydinji woman, Steph has taken her funnies all the way around the globe from being nominated for Best Newcomer at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, to selling out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe with Aboriginal Comedy Allstars. She’s back out gigging around Queensland, has shot a feature film with director Eric C Nash and is painting some beautiful artworks in her spare time (seriously, go check her Instagram). She’s an absolute superstar with an infectious smile and she’s killing it. Go follow her on socials to keep up to date, but if you want to support her directly, you can subscribe to her Patreon via https://www.patreon.com/stephtisdell

19.01.2022 Today we're streaming Deadly Funny Women: In Conversation with Karla Hart, Steph Tisdell and Kimberly Lovegrove. Going live today at 12.30pm as part of National NAIDOC Week.
14.01.2022 Artist Spotlight: Jalen Sutcliffe At just 19 years old, after trying his hand at comedy for the first time during the Deadly Funny heats, the multi-talented, incredibly funny Jalen Sutcliffe took out the Deadly Funny crown in 2016. Since then he’s branched out, showing there’s nothing he can’t do! With a number of acting credits under his belt, he’s written and performed for Black Comedy and has even popped up in an episode of Rosehaven! At the moment he’s working towards ...finishing his bachelor of music degree down in Hobart and has spent his lockdown time this year writing, reflecting and studying hard. We were stoked to have Jalen join us at the 2018 National Grand Final as a special guest, serenading us with that gorgeous voice of his. He’s truly a man of many talents. Go follow The Journey of Jalen to keep up to date with all things Jalen Sutcliffe. See more
07.01.2022 Artist Spotlight: Matt Ford Matt Ford’s mob is the Mununjali clan of the Yugambeh people in Beaudesert South East Queensland. Matt’s a good friend of the Deadly Funny program having guest starred at many a heat and National Grand Final. He’s made a name for himself performing alongside Dane Simpson in Aborigi-LOL, selling out shows right around Australia and is a staple of the Brisbane comedy scene. So get around Matt Ford, follow him on socials, and get along to see him live when you can!
02.01.2022 Artist Spotlight: Kimmie Lovegrove With an infectious smile and cracker jokes, we’re shining a light on two-time National Grand Finalist Kimberly Lovegrove. Coming from the Ngarrindjeri Nation in South Australia along the Murray River, Kimberly now resides in Melbourne where she’s been running Deadly Comedy for the past two years. It’s a comedy show for blackfulla comedians, who started at Deadly Funny or want to try open mic out. She’s been spending her time during Covid-19 ...knuckling down with her studies, working on a Master of Business Administration as she continues towards her dream of running her own record label one day. We’ve been so stoked to have Kimberly as part of the Deadly Funny family and she continues to spread the love and support into the wider community with her laughter. Send some love back Kimberly’s way and chuck a follow on her social channels! See more
