25.01.2022 It seems fitting to post this today as I had the first monarch of the year visit my backyard! I hope to have caterpillars very soon! Yay! This is the lifecycle of a Monarch butterfly. This very special piece was a custom order and most likely a one time deal as it’s very rare to find butterfly chrysalis like this. It features a real butterfly egg, an unhatched and hatched chrysalis, the host plant of the monarch, milkweed and two monarch butterflies. The left is set in the po...sition they emerge from the chrysalis in where they wait until their wings dry and the second, ready for flight! There were also two Blue Morphos to compliment this piece. 07.01.2022 This custom piece has been a beautiful torment for me over the last several months. Odette came to me with the magical idea of an articulated bird skeleton with butterfly wings and a fluffy tail to match. After a few whoopsies and learning curves I’m proud to say I created the piece of her dreams and am full of satisfied happiness! This creation features 20 butterfly wings including the Blue Morpho, Ulysses and the African blue-banded swallowtail as well as kingfisher, peacock and rooster feathers.
