23.01.2022 Deaf Services and the Deaf Society invites the Deaf community to join us in celebrating NAIDOC Week 2020 (8-15 November) and learning more about First Nations people. The theme for NAIDOC 2020 is "Always Was, Always Will Be". NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. 23.01.2022 Deaf Services and The Deaf Society has been contacted by ABC's documentary series ‘Love on the Spectrum’. The production team are filming a second series and are looking for people who are interested in participating in the documentary. They are looking for single people in the Northern Rivers area of NSW who are in their early twenties, Deaf/Auslan users, and who are potentially interested in going on a date with someone on the autism spectrum. You do not have to be on the ...autism spectrum yourself to participate in the documentary. 12.01.2022 Access Training & Education (RTO#41192) are holding two Screening Workshops for prospective students wanting to study PSP50916 Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English) at Deaf Services. They will be held Sat 5th Dec and Sun 6th Dec from 9 am 5 pm at Our Lady's College, 15 Chester Road, Annerley 4103. It is recommended candidates have completed, or have Auslan skills equivalent to, PSP51018 Diploma of Auslan.
