08.01.2022 Northern Cassowary. Nimbokreng, West Papua. This juvenile was photographed in a local bird guides backyard where it was rehabilitating from a nasty gash around it's lower leg from being caught in a hunting trap. Hopefully when recovered it will be returned to the forests, Unfortunately we didn't come across any Cassowary's in the wild during the trip.
