25.01.2022 Brumbies 32 Sunwolves 25 (Bonus point) I’ve just finished watching the Brumbies fall over the line against the most under preforming from last season, the Sunwolves. ... To be honest the Sunwolves should have won. They took every opportunity given, and lead for most of the first half. Typically the Fox sports team opened the now Australian can of ‘ oh the Brumbies are a bit rusty’ lol, yeah I don’t think so. They were expecting an easier game, and then had to play catch up rugby for most of the game. The Sunwolves kept them guessing and played some impressive rugby at times. WARNING...DANGER DANGER Will Robertson.....to all Australian super rugby sides....The Sunwolves are coming!! They are good, so drop the rust BS and earn the huge money you’re paid with some decent rugby skills.....yeah not holding my breath! I have an early prediction........ Bledisloe Nz 3 Aus 0.....will that be 14 or 15 years now? #SunvBru #SuperRugby #DeansSportsCritucal
23.01.2022 Just a quick update on one of the European qualifying matches for the 2019 World Cup.... Spain had a shock loss to those giants of rugby union... Belgium! There were shocking scenes at the end of the 18-10 loss, as the whole Spanish team descended on the ref, who had to be protected by the Belgium players and security ....I didn’t know ScottHigginwhatever had relatives in Spain!... Shame Spain, Shame!
23.01.2022 The Reds and The Brumbies....yawn...fought out an uninspiring, boring, rusty, and totally mistakeriden game last night. The brand of rugby they played was second division 1st XV at best, with neither side being totally dominant at any stage. It very much reminded me of old fashion northern hemisphere rugby from the 70s. The Reds managed to score no tries, but slotted 6 penalty’s. The lacklustre Brumbies scored 2, with the final score 16-10 to the Reds.... The best part of the game was hearing that Scott Higginwhatever has been suspended for 3 matches following his brain snap last week. Whilst I’m on brain snaps....Wallabies coach, Michael Cheka....aka Clown boy, is again wanting Quad Cooper to be treated well, and tucked into bed every night!! What a short memory he has, as late last year, he also couldn’t find a spot on the Wallabies roster for the uninspiring brand of 1% rugby he played.....?! With the lack of talented number 10s in the country maybe he is lamenting in that decision? #SuperRugby #FoxSports #DeansSportsCritical
22.01.2022 Crusaders Vs Chiefs Another convincing win by the Crusaders, with all of their players giving their all for 80 mins. The Chiefs has moments of brilliance, but were unable to capitalise after a few interceptions, and a penalty going the way of the Crusaders.... No ‘rusty patches’ to be seen at all. A great game to watch, with crisp passing skills on both sides, with the score not reflecting the skill levels of these two teams. Crusaders 45 Chiefs 23 #CruvChi #SuperRugby #DeansSportsCritical
22.01.2022 This is as close as the Wallabies will get to the Bledisloe Cup again this season. All Blacks 40 Wallabies 12 They started well, again, but just couldn’t keep up with the fast playing ABs. When will Cheika realise that you need more than 3 excellent players to beat the number 1 side in the world? Or will he follow suit of all the other Wallaby coaches and try and keep their good players until they either retire, or are so injured they can’t stand up anymore! Barrett and co pretty much controlled the game from start to finish, and would have blown the score apart with the 3 disallowed trues, but we’re constantly under extra TMO scrutiny, which seems to be the norm now for any game with the ABs
22.01.2022 This is what defeat looks like.....Australia came out with all guns blazing and took out the first half, but the second half was a totally different story! The All Blacks took the game by the scruff of the neck, and threw it into line. David Pocock was the star for the Wallabies, with precision ruck and maul technique, but again poor decision making in the Wallabies loose play was their down fall....again. Yes you will hear the all familiar chant of the referee missed this, or did that, but come on guys that is the game now, move on, nothing is going to change there. The next test in Auckland should be an awesome spectacle of rugby, and the Wallabies will have to summon more than they have to beat the All Blacks, at home in Eden Park, to draw the Bedisloe series. Let’s see what they can come up with......
20.01.2022 It would be remiss of me not to mention the 6 Nations final results, but really just how bad the English side were lol From champions to 5th, Eddie what happened mate?? You taunted the ABs saying your side was unbeatable, and the best in the world...but as always with Eddie at the helm it didn’t last, pretty much never does! Eddie mate lean in close and listen for a second......you can only call yourself the ‘best in the world’ when you’ve played, and beaten, the best in the... world! You can only be the world champion, without playing everyone in the world, in the not so mighty USA!! Talk is cheap, and you do talk a hell of a lot! Ireland dropped your woeful English world beaters like a bad habit, along with Scotland, and the snail eating French Oh well maybe your job will be on the line again, god that must be your 7th coaching job in 10 years mate....maybe time to hang up the mouth and move on to something more suited to your skills.....I hear the Russians are looking for a new curling coach....perfect!
20.01.2022 The Reds traveled around the world to get to Sth Africa, only to be robbed of a win in the dying seconds...by the ref!! When an attacking team takes the ball into a maul, and maul collapses, it is ALWAYS a penalty for the attacking team...oh except when you play in Sth Africa it seems! Not only was the ref making one sided calls all the way through the match, the SA commentary team joined in with their 2 cents worth....and who would of guessed that when the Stormer did an exa...ct same thing....you could hear the crickets! Come on SA, grow the fk up! Yes your country has been torn apart with race issues, human rights issues, general chip on your shoulders issues, and after looking at how angry your players are...probably steroid issues! You have been, and remain, the dirtiest players in the world. Shame SA shame! The score is irrelevant, as the Reds could have won on a fair and even playing field, and a neutral ref!! Reds 19 SA Ref 25
16.01.2022 OMG what an incredible game of rugby! The Boks came out with all guns blazing and gave the ABs a lesson in defence, and making the most of opportunities. The ABs looked sluggish at times, and for the first time ever were left wanting in broken play! Yes I am a staunch ABs supporter, but I am also a huge fan of tight rugby games, which as we saw bought out the best, and sometimes the worst, in both teams. Good luck to the Boks, and let’s hope the ABs can learn, and regroup for the Pumas next week. #Allblacks#FOXSPORTS#DeansSportsCritical
16.01.2022 Hey guys, yes I know it’s been a while between drinks, but I’m back for the last game! Well the lions lived up to their reputation...of losing grand final games...and tonight was no exception. At one stage they had over 90% of the ball, and the territory, but still couldn’t score a try... But they did turn that around during the middle 40 minutes of the game with some awesome offence, and yes the Crusaders had 15 players on the field for some of that time! The Crusaders were/are way too strong, boosted by a plethora of All Blacks, and up and coming future All Blacks. 9 titles now, and getting stronger every year. All we have to wait for now is some new ridiculous,mind-boggling, mathematically insane, Super Rugby Draw for 2019....where no one plays anyone, and an Australian team get an automatic entry into the grand final, and a 50 point head start Enjoy your time off, and I will keep you up to date on the up and coming Internationals...cheers ** now on Instagram!!! #SuperRugby #FoxSports #CRUVLIO #DeanSportsCritical
16.01.2022 Good morning sports lovers! Well the Super Rugby starts this weekend, and again congratulations to one Australian team, pretty much guaranteed a finals berth, and the NRL starts March 8th. Just a quick word of advice to all the NRL referees out there.....empty your pockets of red and yellow cards, you know the ones with all the dust on them! Encourage the around the neck tackles, the blatant shoulder charges, pretty much and activity that puts the ball carrier in harms way!... Your inability to police, and control a game is a joke. Maybe we should just not have a ref on the field? The game would be faster, less interruptions from the video guys. Just give a random fan the whistle....they couldn’t do worse! Any wonder parents are pulling their kids from rugby league....heads still attached! Anyway there is still lots of action at PK Chang’s Winter Olympics for the over privileged....so get out there and cheer for the all the kids that haven’t got a gold medal yet...and don’t worry kids, get your parent to join the AOC...I’m sure you’d be guaranteed one then
16.01.2022 Sorry I’ve been absent for the last week, but I had to go to NZ for work.... Ok so I haven’t seen all the games this weekend, but it’s becoming blatantly obvious....Australian rugby is in deep trouble! I’m not sure if it’s 35, or 835 games lost to NZ sides! The Chiefs made the reds look like a 3rd XV on Friday night.... The Reds defence was as strong as my willpower when there is cake around...non existent!! The Brumbies, or the Fumblies, couldn’t even put the Jaguares away lol. Henry Spate is like Quad Cooper with bad hair, and with slightly less brain cells! The Rebels got put back in their box by being thrashed by the Bulls, with a 28-10 loss. These guys were the top of the Australian table a week ago lol. It will be like last year....the top Australian team will have less points than the lowest NZ team...but because of the ‘pity clause’,will still make the finals. The Waratahs went down to the Lions...without even scoring a single point! God must be upset with them for keeping his shining example of an angel.....Mr ‘I don’t like gay people’ Falou keeping the bench warm! Rumour has it that there are some cheap airfares to the UK all you Australian rugby players....it’s not too late to leave and pretend it wasn’t your fault....! #WebJet #SuperRugby #DeansSportsCritical
08.01.2022 Super Rugby started last night with a cracking game between the Highlanders and the low performing Blues. It was a game played at a furious pace, with the score changing about every five minutes. Great skills on both side, with the Highlanders holding out with a 41-34 win on their home ground. Then the fun started with the Rebels (should have been the higher performing Western Force!) against the Reds.... Before the game hit its stride good old Scott Higginbotham tried to take someone’s head off with his shoulder....resulting in a red card, so the Reds were down to 14 players from the 10 minute mark. Just a small note to the guys commentating....the phrase ‘the teams seem a bit rusty’ in response to the shocking ball handling, dropped balls etc is a joke! These guys are professional rugby players, all they do is hold and pass the ball. Far too many mistakes on both sides, turning the game into a second rate 1st XV spectacle. Just one last note....Will Genia...once a great player, now a player with great hair! One player does NOT make a team. He was ok with one or two hot moments. #SuperRugby #RebvRed #DeansSportsCritical
08.01.2022 Sorry guys I’ve been a bit lax in my Super Rugby reporting! So let’s look at the Fijian National side aka the Rebels, vs The Hurricanes. Ok we had to wait 6 weeks to finally see an NZ Vs Aus game, the aussies talked up the Rebels....but true to form the got spanked lol. The Rebels play ok for 20-30 mins, then forgot why they were there.... Beaten in every phase, their ball handling was/is still ‘rusty’. Looks like another Australian drought in super rugby....28 games straight now! Rebels 19 Hurricanes 50 The Blues played the Sharks, and got a lesson on ball handling! At times it looked like the Blues were missing something, I’m thinking talent, and even though the scores more tries, they struggled everywhere else. Blues 40 Sharks 63 The Chiefs play the Highlanders, and it was a very close game, with the score changing every few minutes. The Chiefs just happened to stand up better to the Hurricanes physical onslaught. Chiefs 27 Highlanders 22 The Brumbies played the lacklustre Waratahs, with the skill level of both teams laughable. Everyone is scratching their heads on why the Aus teams can’t beat the NZ teams.....and it’s simple...NZ team do the basics brilliantly! They don’t miss many tackles, pass well, and can actually catch them ball!! Pocock returned, and might show us something soon on why he’s back in the team. A few highlights, but lost a lot of speed and his ability to read the game. Brumbies 17 Waratahs 24 So yet another steroid fuelled SA match up. Still the dirtiest players in the comp, really don’t care who won, and their commentary team seem to influence the game, via their comments, and their amazing influence on the video ref!! I will take a book out of the cheating Aus cricket team....and not say the word...’cheating’! Bulls 33 Stormers 23 The Crusaders traveled to the land of the steroids, bad ref calls, and blatant favouritism towards SA teams...and won lol!! The Lions played ok, dodging the used syringes on, and off the field, but were never in the same class of the Crusaders. The SA teams will be praying to the pharma companies for more Australian teams to travel to land that fair play forgot. Easy beats with a few wins under their belts against sub-standard teams lol ....Aussie Aussie Aussie lose lose lose..... Lions 8 Crusaders 14
06.01.2022 I’ve just been watching the Commonwealth Games, actually the Womens 20km walk to be specific. I’m hoping the Australian cricket team were also watching these incredible athletes face adversity...and through their solidarity as a team, these amazing female athletes have showed us how it’s really done on the world stage! No sledging or bullshit, just guts and respect!... Claire Tallent was disqualified with less than a lap, and it was heartbreaking to watch, as her younger team mate, Jemima Montag, took over the lead going on to take out the gold medal. Claire, obviously distraught, stood up and applauded her younger compatriot over the last few hundred metres...celebrating with her at the finish line. Never have I seen a more emotional, inspirational, and touching scene in sport. The older guard literally passing the baton to the younger athlete, even though it was due to disqualification, it was not tarnished by any means. We should all be very very proud of these athletes, and all of our games participants, para and able-bodied alike, as they show us that even through adversity, our souls can soar through success and adversity! NB: I took me an hour to write this due to the tears continually interrupting my focus!!!
05.01.2022 Ok, so it looks like our comrades from Russia have dropped the ball, or should I say dropped the curling stone again Alexander Krushelnytsky, one member of the husband and wife team, has tested positive for a banned substance, but we wait for the ‘B’ sample to be tested. How a heart drug that increases blood flow would help you in curling is beyond me.....mind you I have swept my floor a few times, and it is quite demanding! ... Let’s hope it was a false positive and move on.
04.01.2022 I’ve just watched Fox Sports Kick and Chase.....OMG! Get a grip guys, you need a new coach, and a WHOLE NEW APPROACH!!! 1 win from the last 7 games! Any other sporting team would have cut Chieka lose at 1-5!! It’s the whole culture...Wallaby players walking to break downs, a huge amount of missed tackles....Dru mate, your a mate of the coach, don’t let your personal feeling get in the way of change fir the good of the team...that you don’t play for anymore!
04.01.2022 Ok so week 3 of the Suoer Rugby and to be honest no surprises. The NZ teams are showing why they are the gold standard in this comp. The Sth African and Australian teams again made up the numbers. A plethora of dropped balls, forward passes and very very very poor discipline! Hmmm still ‘rusty’?... Come on guys, you get paid to play the beautiful game, but continually can’t keep it in your pants! No one cares if someone called you a name, or hit you with their handbag, play the game or go away. I’ve got an idea....spend LESS time doing your hair...and MORE time practicing the basics like the hard skills like catching, or passing the ball, breathing and walking...and do you kiss you mother with those mouths? Oh and a final thought...No Australia team plays an NZ side until round 7!? The Waratahs get to wait until round 12! What a fair comp this is.....not! I think next season the Australian comp should play their own comp....I’m sure that they couldn’t even win that #FoxSports #SuoerRugby #DeanSportsCritical
03.01.2022 I read this tonight..... Red Cards Ruining Rugby? Discuss Wallabies skills coach Mick Byrne has said that red cards are ruining rugby. He proposes that an alternate reserve player should take the field after 10 minutes to bring numbers back to 15 per side but the carded player will not be able to take the field again. What do you think of this idea? Discuss below.... #RugbyRampage OMG where do I start!! As opposed to the NRL, who chose not to use their cards...EVER...Union has made the choice to punish dangerous behaviour on the field, and are changing the rules occasionally to make the game safer for its players, and kids coming through the rankings. The irony of this comment was it came from an Australian Wallabies skills coach! Obviously it’s harder to get out of that job than it is get into it! Lately the only real ‘skill’the Australian Super Rugby sides have , and thus the Wallabies squad, are dropping the ball, ridiculously inadequate passing skills, poor decision making under pressure, dropping the ball!!....I could go on for ever. They excel at excuse making though ‘oh we are rusty from the long off season’ gotta love that one. I think the Fox Sport team has that written down on post-it notes, using their best crayons, all over their desk on the weekend. It’s become the ‘go to’ comment when an aussies drops a pass etc etc etc etc. We all know that the Super Rugby competition demonstrates how all the national teams will probably preform later in the season. It just looks like the Wallabies are going to be just as awesome as ever. Oh they will win some games that their management have hand picked like, Fiji, Italy, Tasmania...maybe, but will once again fail when it counts. Scotland win a game the other day, and believe they could beat the AllBlacks....it’s hard the write that and keep a straight face, but belief and skill they have. Ireland are the same, Wales even on a good day. What I’m trying to say is.... dear Wallabies; A/ Hire a skills coach....with skills! B/ Get the basics right. Passing and catching are fairly important in our wonderful game. C/ Stamp out the thugs, like Scott Higginwhatever, personally I think the franchises should bench him for at least another game, as a lesson of what not to do. Oh and maybe he and Quad Cooper could team up with the ‘skills coach’ and learn how to tackle!! Bring on the ParaOlympics, and let’s see some real athletes with skills, courage and heart. #SuperRugby #FoxSports #ParaOlympics #DeansSportsCritical
01.01.2022 Another week of Super Rugby with the Crusaders demolishing the lack lustre Bulls. The Bulls seem to have taken a leaf out of the Pacific Island sides, only actually playing for 20 mins of each half! They were brilliant at times...ok, once they were brilliant, the rest of the time they dropped to ball... Crusaders 33 Bulls 14 This was followed by the Fijian National team from Melbourne playing the Sharks. Fiji got off to a quick lead....and pretty much never looked back...it was a little confusing as they wore the traditional skirts worn by the Rebels? The Fijian side ran out comfortable winners, but having only played 2nd rate teams (that’s code for not yet playing a NZ side...come on round 7...or 12?) The only decent competition they had was against, and I can’t believe I’m writing this, the Waratahs....who ran rings around them....I’m thinking way too much cava at halftime Fijian National Team 46 Sharks 14 The Chiefs traveled to the land of the rising Sunwolf, and put on a master class of rugby. The Sunwolves played, like all Japanese teams in the past, with honour and never gave up. I love watching them play....they are an absolute credit to our beautiful game! The final score was very onesided, but expected. Chiefs 61 Sunwolves 10 More games to come......
