05.01.2022 In 2017 we completed The Franklin Project. Located on the banks of the Huon River just on the outskirt of Franklin. Our client wanted to downsize from her family home but also wanted to remain on her stunning property. Our client engaged Taylor and Hinds Architects to design a smaller home for herself just down the road! A simple rectangle floor plan which encompasses one bedroom, bathroom, open plan living/kitchen, entrance and laundry. The intriguing roof design has all...owed for an attic which is a home office/study space and doubles as a second bedroom when our clients family visits. Featuring warm Tasmanian timbers throughout, Spotted Gum cladding and decking. Tasmanian oak flooring and a bespoke timber kitchen island by local joiner. The wood heater, double glazing and window placement keeps the house warm throughout the Tassie winter. Just recently DS Building was awarded a Tasmanian Master Builder Award for Excellence in Building for The Franklin Project. It was a highly competitive category - Dwelling Construction $350,000 - $500,000. Congratulations to all involved with the build of The Franklin Project! 02.01.2022 We are incredibly happy in our new home. It is very liveable and will suit our little family as we grow. Despite trying to stay away as much as possible, Mallan and the crew were always happy to see us on site. It was very exciting for us to see our home go up so quickly, with such skill and attention to detail. Deans recommendations on products and style were bang on! We would absolutely recommend DS Building to anybody, Dean delivered a beautifully finished home on budget (within 0.0001%) and within our expected timeframe, Thanks so much to you Dean and the team for making a usually stressful process relatively stress free!
