15.01.2022 33.5K Hellos for Hello Surfcoast Day! On Friday 4th December at 6pm, the entire Surf Coast will come together for a Hello Happy Hour to ‘meet and greet’ in every street, to celebrate a safe, post Covid community that welcomes and supports each other. Imagine everyone saying hello at the same time! That has to be a World Record?! Why Hello Surfcoast Day?... A lot of us are feeling that Covid has torn apart lives and left a gaping hole in our community. Distancing has created an inability to hug and connect, and mask wearing has taken away our smiles. We are all well aware that loneliness is ripe in our neighbourhood and it's taking its toll on many. We hope to help our community connect again and to let everyone know that people do care. Every single HELLO is another reminder that we are not alone and that others do care.

04.01.2022 FROM THE COTTAGE Hi Everyone These times are certainly ones that challenge us individually and as a community as we navigate our way in managing and adapting to... the Covid-19 virus being present in our lives. I think most of us are reflecting upon how fortunate we are to live in our little district and be able to get outside and connect in different ways. Living here and being fortunate does not however diminish the impact that we may feel during this time. I know you will all continue to support each other and touch base with those around you - the care and kindness that is evident in this community is something for us all to embrace and feel supported by. Our local mask making team is a great example of who we are as a community. If you or someone you know are experiencing difficulties whether financial, mental and emotional health and wellbeing, or you just want to go for a walk with someone to break the day up please contact us at The Cottage - there are many services in place to assist and many people who love to go for a distanced walk. There is much that the bloody virus has not stopped and in some ways it has been the catalyst for grassroots community actions and an opportunity for new ways of moving forward to be explored. Renee and I are still working from home but are available to assist by appointment with access to photocopying, scanning and printing and accessing information and services that may be helpful to you. If you havent had a look or participated in the Deans Marsh Grow Free Pantry and Little Free Pantry located under the verandah of the Community Hall I encourage you to pop by. Community connections, local food security, sharing skills and knowledge are all elements of these great initiatives. Stay safe, as we do what we need to do to look after our most vulnerable, and take care of ourselves and each other. My mobile number is 0456 086 786 please call if you need any assistance during this time A big distanced hug to you all x Thanks, Lisa DMCC Coordinator Read all of the AUG | SEPT issue of The Croaker by clicking on this link: https://deansmarsh.org.au//croaker/The-Croaker-2020-05-Aug
04.01.2022 Hi everyone Just a reminder that if you are accessing the Little Free Pantry or the Grow Free initiative located under the Hall verandah please observe face covering, social distancing and covid hygiene practises including hand sanitising and one person at a time. We are able to currently continue these two food security initiatives but must make sure we are all being safe. Thanks!
