25.01.2022 Happy Monday! The suns out, and its a beautiful Spring day here in Sydney . Daisy and I go bee spotting in the yard every morning, and today we spotted this little guy . Have you taken any photos recently? Would love to see!

25.01.2022 To everyone in Victoria experiencing lockdown and the new restrictions, how are you doing? I know these uncertain times can feel extremely isolating, coping can be difficult, it may take a physical and mental toll on your wellbeing, and it may seem impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Although Im in NSW and not experiencing the stricter restrictions, I understand that these times are tough and kindness goes a long way, especially when the new norm may mean turning what youre familiar with completely inside-out! Id like to send a little gift to someone in lockdown at the moment; just tag someone (or yourself), who needs some love during this pandemic. Ill draw a random name tomorrow night .

23.01.2022 I m p o r t a n t U p d a t e s N e w P r i c i n g Our prices will increase slightly when our new packaging arrives (around early October). Although we can easily change the prices without notifying anyone, we like to be transparent, so this is something we want our customers to know before it happens and why.... The new tubes will hold slightly more volume, however the price increase is mainly because suppliers in skincare have increased their prices significantly. We only use high quality ingredients, which was already costing us more, but we dont feel comfortable choosing cheaper alternatives that dont deliver the same results. L i m i t e d F l a v o u r s Because the MOQ for each flavour is huge, well only stock our best sellers until we have more storage space . Well ONLY have the tubes available as well as the large pots for the Overnight Lip Rescue balm. We believe our product is worth every dollar, and hope you continue to love and support our brand . 20.01.2022 Friday! How are you here already!? Feels like Ive been MIA, even though its only been a couple of days since I last posted . My 1 year old started feeling unwell on Monday night, on top of having his 7th tooth cutting through. Hes been my little koala bear, getting some extra mummy cuddles and comfort. Its been a tough week trying to get wholesales and individual orders complete but I promise theyre well and truly getting done . Hope you all have a wonderful day .

I was able to drop off our goodies and meet some of their lovely staff, so if youre a local, drop by and say hi and of course check out their amazing products .

17.01.2022 So. Much. Turkish. Delight. We handmake our balms in small batches (precisely 36 tubes at a time), and today, it consisted of several batches of our best seller . This is alkanet infused in coconut oil, which adds some natural colour to the balm . 100% plant based, no artificial colouring .

I always tell others to "go for it" and had to give myself a pep talk to follow my own advice. So I did, and wow . Dearest Lips is a finalist for the @ausmumpreneur awards. 14.01.2022 Is your lip balm almost due for the compost bin? The great thing is, the packaging is 100% home compostable, meaning it doesnt need to go to an industrial composting facility. Worms loooove our packaging! Heres a customer photo of one of our tubes - wiped clean, cut up, and ready to be composted! If you dont have a compost bin, you can either recycle them or find someone in your area who can compost them for you, through ShareWaste... ShareWaste connects people to recycle their organic waste, make more soil and grow produce. They bring together hosts (who receive organic waste) with donors (who donate their organic waste) to process kitchen scraps into new soil.

12.01.2022 I m p o r t a n t A n n o u n c e m e n t Did you know that the labeling and sealing of each tube is easily the most time consuming part of the process? Its something that has to be done, otherwise itll just be a blank tube but its something that can be done better and less wasteful. Were always striving to be zero waste in all aspects of our business, not just with the end product. Although we use 100% recycled paper for our labels, the backing sheets are still s...uper wasteful, especially since we go through SO MANY labels. We reuse these sheets whenever we can, but its not good enough. So... Ive been planning and doing my research to find a company that can print the labels directly onto the tubes for us, using 100% eco-friendly and vegan soy based ink. We have finally finished the testing phase, so production should be in full swing very soon! When this change happens, we will only be stocking the best sellers to begin with, as the MOQ for each flavour is HUGE and we just dont have the storage space for all the flavours at this stage. We are choosing to be more time efficient and less wasteful for now, and well be able to stock all flavours again in the near future . I like to be transparent, which is why Im sharing this with you before the change happens. The product itself is still 100% handmade by me. I looooove making our balms! The only difference is the packaging. It makes me super excited to know were making a change that has a positive impact on the environment . P.S. This also means the text on the tube wont fade as easily over time . P.P.S. I dont know how I always end up writing so much . If you got this far, yay! Haha

12.01.2022 Hi everyone! Im Glaiza, the face behind Dearest Lips . Its been one rollercoaster of a journey so far, so thought Id take the time today to reflect and be grateful for our achievements and how this small business came to be. So heres our story . 2 YEARS AGO I was wide awake at 4am, waiting for my newborns next cluster feed; adding one more lip balm to my online shopping cart. Im a huge supporter of Australian handmade skincare products, and during that moment, I tho...ught, maybe I can share my love of natural lip balms with likeminded people out there, too? I ended up throwing an all-nighter; researching, brainstorming ideas, drafting a business plan, goal setting, and visualising a brand that showcases my eco-conscious ethics and beliefs. I was determined to bring this idea to life. My kids, along with my desire for a sustainable future have always been my biggest inspirations. 2 weeks later, Dearest Lips was born. The fire that ignited this passion hasnt stopped since . Over time Dearest Lips has continued to evolve into the brand that Ive envisioned since day 1. It isnt just a lip balm. Each time a tube goes to its new forever home, it serves a purpose and leaves a positive impact in more ways than one: Were reducing plastic waste, one compostable lip balm at a time. Whilst billions of plastic tubes ends up in landfill each year, our packaging is returned to Mother Nature. We give back by donating monthly to a local non-profit charity that feeds the homeless and most vulnerable members of the community. Carevan Blacktown is made up of a team of the most lovely volunteers, and they do so much to ensure the hungry is kept warm and fed. Our donations go towards buying eco-friendly supplies and general expenses to keep the initiative alive. We continue to learn and share our knowledge about sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. We arent perfect but were always striving towards being zero waste. Im so blessed to be able to work from home to nurture my children and growing business. Its a juggling act, but I absolutely love every moment of it. 05.01.2022 Our lip and cheek tint has made its way to Japan . Haruna was gifted one by a lovely friend of hers. We love that a simple product can bring so much joy! Also - Her friend owns a plant-based Japanese restaurant in Reedy Creek QLD, if youre a local you should definitely check it out - Izakaya Midori . Would love to try it out one day, once restrictions loosen and were allowed to travel interstate again. Their food looks incredible!

05.01.2022 My English Ivy is starting to trail down my bookshelf, yay . I have so much love for this plant, because a few days after I purchased it, all the leaves started dying and falling off so I had to 'rescue' it. I relocated it to our bathroom and within days it started thriving (second pic shows the new growth) . The photos show the difference between week 1 and week 8 . I recently moved it on top of my bookshelf so it can trail down instead. It still gets plenty of natural light throughout the day, I'm so happy it's still thriving, phew . I know it may not be a rare or unique plant, but I love my Ivy and it may be one of my faves . Do you have any indoor plant stories?

04.01.2022 Thought this photo was quite fitting, after we spent the morning buying a few more indoor plants . This photo was taken by @michelle_elizabeth__ and I just love it! The kids love going to our local nursery, they instantly gravitate towards the large palms and pretend to be lost in the jungle lol. They get so excited seeing so many different plants in all shapes, colours, and sizes, and we end up staying for longer than anticipated . The great thing is, its never wasteful either!
