25.01.2022 Thanks for including us in your wrap up of Sydney's best wine bars Marie Claire Australia!

25.01.2022 BURRATA! Ours via Vannella Cheese, with dehydrated citrus powder (no waste here - inspired by the legends at La Buvette in Paris) and Le Coste Olio Extravergine di Oliva via Giorgio De Daria. When everything’s primo there’s no need for riff raff.

24.01.2022 Fresh oyster vibes for spring. The terrace is open from 12pm.

24.01.2022 LP's Quality Meats, Chippendale salami cotto, De Palma Salumi bresaola, Mr Cannubi noix de jambon, bread and butter pickled zucchinis. Need nothing more. Drop in for a snack, or book if you please.

22.01.2022 Clemens Busch, one of the most acclaimed biodynamic winemakers in Germany, crafts fine, mineral Riesling from his vineyards on the Mosel river. This one is from the sites on grey slate soils, which gives it the flavour of (who would’ve guessed) slate. Drink in the bar or buy online now at Laneway Liquor.

21.01.2022 In 2018 Catherine Bernard lost a huge amount of her crop due to mildew. To help produce the La Route des Cretes, neighbours very kindly donated fruit to supplement the little that could be saved. The result is top-notch. It’s hearty and heady, with layers of earthy spice. Drink in or grab a bottle to takeaway.

20.01.2022 Light, springy, zingy. Spanish mackerel, roasted garlic and white soy.

20.01.2022 A very springy pav. Strawbs and cream and that’s about it. A little Tea Craft chamomile tea chamomile tea to have us dreaming of Peru.

18.01.2022 We love working with Fabrice Dodane at Domaine de Saint Pierre. Fabrice has access to really phenomenal terroir around the village of Arbois and does all the things we love at DSE. All fruit is certified organic and he chooses to work without additions to generate a harmonic expression of his unique terroir. Chalky, mineral goodness.

18.01.2022 The middle table, among the action. Link below to book. https://booking.nowbookit.com/booking

15.01.2022 Come pour things with us! Email [email protected] with your resume if you’re keen to join our FOH team.

14.01.2022 Olasagasti by Conservas Dentici S.L. anchovy, toasted Organic Bread Bar brioche, dill pickles. Snacks!

14.01.2022 We look forward to the wines from Alice and Olivier de Moor each year, and this year’s allocation was no exception. Keen to get your mitts around this 2018 Chablis? Move fast. These wines are rare and limited and will move swiftly.

13.01.2022 We out here! Brand new courtyard area = activated!

12.01.2022 A wee skewered bottle squid, burnt-chilli-and-sherry vinaigrette and roasted chilli oil splashed on top. Red on the plate, white in the glass, it’s the only way.

12.01.2022 Toasted focaccia, a single Olasagasti by Conservas Dentici S.L. anchovy, a smear of labne and a slice of rendered Di Palma lardo. Pickled leek and chive flowers to top.

12.01.2022 Le Clos du Gravillas Muscat Pet Nat. It’s all peaches and apricots and is aromatic as hell. Fruit of limestone, as desirable as heaven. Yours in-bar or pick up to take home to sip a la couch.

11.01.2022 Shimmy into the week as this lot does wine in hand, grins wide, snack en route. We can make it happen. Link below to book. https://booking.nowbookit.com/booking

11.01.2022 Domaine Gramenon - Officiel Côtes du Rhône is one of our favourite releases every year because they’re one of our favourite minimal interventionist producers making wines under the appellation. One hundred percent Grenache, quite full-bodied but retaining a sense of elegance. Hit up Laneway Liquor to order.

11.01.2022 Whole Beast Butchery sirloin, Roger Fernandes’ chimichurri (he developed his perfect recipe after spending time with Francis Mallmann in Argentina), a little preserved lemon. Molto bene.

08.01.2022 Perused the shelves lately? It’s all up for grabs, for (very) reasonable prices. This weekend’s antics sorted, we think.

07.01.2022 Oh, it’s a classic combo. Asparagus and gribiche. The child of Hugh’s French-cookbook-reading during lockdown. On both menus.

07.01.2022 White truffle of thou dreams. Available to buy for the casa at Fabbrica Pasta Shop. $8 a gram.

06.01.2022 Gigli, gigli, gigli, tossed in a baby cavolo nero green sauce with ALTO Olives robust olive oil, pink peppercorn and nasturtium. The backstreets of the inner west on a plate.

03.01.2022 Simon at it. Ask him how many times he’s hit his head on the pans.

02.01.2022 Takeaway wine is very much still a thing! All bottles ready for the home taking. Drop in. It’s all stellar stuff, rarely available retail. Open from 5pm.

01.01.2022 Work with us! We're on the hunt for an exceptional kitchen hand. Email [email protected].

01.01.2022 We’ve received this season’s allocation of L'Anglore wines from the master of Tavel Eric Pfifferling. Eric is very much of the inspiration for what a lot of young South Australian winemakers are doing with their wines because of the similar climate. These are full-bodied, treated very gently and live somewhere between and Rosé and red. Get up, get tasting. Find wines like these and more at Laneway Liquor. Below to order yours. https://www.lanewayliquor.com/
