25.01.2022 These are my own darlings, Captain Majestic and Sensei, who passed 4 and 3 years ago, respectively. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with them for a long time, or if I would even feel capable, but I had the privilege and space to keep them in one of my freezers, where I would speak to them regularly and give them a pat I sent them off for cremation by the fabulous team at Passing Paws Pet Cremations who also made beautiful paw prints for each of them and also cremated my brother’s pupper, Sheba. I’m so happy to have my old girls back in the house

25.01.2022 Next week we’re doing it again! Who’s coming?

24.01.2022 Makuru. I always look a bit closer at the world around me to see if I notice the specifics of each season. Join me

24.01.2022 I realised I didn’t post this sweet baby, I’ve been struggling with both physical and mental health issues, it’s been a tiiime, a few posts to come. Anyhoo, something a bit different to display this duckling that was prepared in the recent Duckling workshop This sugar is available for purchase. All messages will be responded to tonight x

24.01.2022 Keep an eye out for the seasonal shifts

22.01.2022 I’m thinking about doing a small snout death cast series between projects, anyone keen? This is from a deceased Mastiff x puppy that died of natural means. I do always try to find ways for singular art pieces to be attainable. This was a one use only cast that did not require defrosting or cause any harm to the baby. It is available for $80 (the frame is black)

22.01.2022 Such a blast to kick off workshops post Covid restrictions with these two good eggs, supervised by the dogs. KD and I have been excited about this since February, so I completely appreciate the patience whilst everything was on hold. Vicki made the trek from Margaret River for the session, which is just amazing Didn’t they do a wonderful job of their buns?

19.01.2022 This year has been a challenge and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt is to not try to do everything myself, and to learn how to let go of some things, after 6 years of riding solo (not discounting the assistance I’ve had from family and friends along the way- thank you, always). Thus, I want to introduce everyone to my darling friend Kelkel Penny, who is taking on the reins of Admin Queen for Death & Delicacy. Our friendship was cemented after years of me admiring her ...sass and strength, when, after I broke my nose (for the second time in 2012) she assured me I was still a babe, just a bit bloody We’ve worked together on events and as door bitches for years and it’s only right I should have this organisational demon on the team Axe Throwing Animal Loving Events Aficionado Professional Crap Dancer; Just some of the things I love about her. When she’s not coordinating her Pirates into well oiled festival teams, she can be more than likely be found playing with power tools to help deconstruct things to create new things and call it art in her little home with her airbrush artist roomie and their 3 recently rescued disco kittens.

18.01.2022 It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster over the last few months, as I’ve been managing my mental health with the responsibilities of my dual workloads. This has involved counselling, medication, the love & support of my nearest & dearest and necessary time out Unfortunately, my family lost our darling pupper, Sheba, last week, and again a cycle of grief commenced This past weekend though, I spent 4 days down south in a serendipitously planned getaway, which was educational, full of beautiful creatures, visits with friends, and it was exactly what my soul needed. Apologies to those waiting on replies, a step back was necessary and I’ll be replying in the next 24hrs. Much love x

18.01.2022 I don’t usually prepare skulls or other bones to be sold on their own, but couldn’t resist with this tiny bun skull after I was contacted for a Valentine’s gift to provide the skulls of their enemies, I mean... This sweetheart, like many before it, was processed for taxidermy, and the bones that were left were processed for other art making. Being so tiny and delicate, the process of preparing this skull involved heavy supervision of my dermies who cleaned it up, and then a slow and gentle degreasing and whitening

17.01.2022 Amazing to watch the seasonal changes in our own backyards and to link these changes to the lands we inhabit and the history, culture and stories told. Here at home, we have had new blooms come up and so many garden visitors of every variety

17.01.2022 Happy Friday Movers and Shakers! Now that restrictions have lifted we can kick back in to gear with some Workshop Action!! Below is Date Release 1 of 2. I'm still in the process of scheduling previously booked sessions with those very patient people who booked before distancing restrictions were announced, so keep your eyeballs peeled tomorrow for 2 of 2, which will also have some new offerings that I'm V V excited about! ... First Release date events will be going up this evening, and I'm trying something new with bookings made via an external booking platform to try and make the experience smoother for everyone, because whilst I have always loved having a chat with everyone as we book, it's not always immediately possible. A bit tricky to do for Personalised Payment plans for my tech n00b self, so PM for that and we'll figure it out together. As this is a new process, I'd love feedback. If we don't like it, we'll explore other options I'm so excited to see familiar faces and welcome some new people to fold x

17.01.2022 We farewelled two beautiful humans today. If you can donate at all to this fund, please do. Hug your loved ones tight today, and every day xx

16.01.2022 REAL TALK Lately I’ve been struggling to work. I’ve been having a rollercoaster in my personal life including several grieving experiences, a trauma, a changed living situation and the symptoms of compassion fatigue. My anxiety has been through the roof and I hadn’t noticed the build until it was too late. In this heartwork of mine, rooted in compassion, honour and joy, I need my cup to be full for me to show up appropriately, and with everything combined I’ve been squashed by that nasty inner voice of mine. Tonight though, I’m back in the workshop, plugging away at various projects and just trying to show myself the same consideration I offer to others and keep my heart full. Apologies to anyone who has messaged or emailed, I’ll get to those tonight. One step at a time, to infinity and beyond

15.01.2022 Whilst many people are shocked and overwhelmed by what is happening in America, we can’t ignore what is happening in our own backyard to Aboriginal Australians. We can take the opportunity to be better and to show up for our BIPOC community members. *Research culture and history *Listen to people of colour *Protest ... *Volunteer *Donate *Witness *Speak up against racism Black Lives Matter If you have a helpful link, please share it with us below

14.01.2022 A joy to work with two wonderful humans today in a Jackalope workshop. It’s always fascinating to hear each person’s stories, it’s part of the reason I love workshops so much! Some awesome work and thoughtful ingenuity saw these two adding teeth to their babes. Our supervisors were sleeping on the job but we got it done! Fangs for coming!! Looking forward to working with you both again soon

14.01.2022 Absolutely stunning creations made by all attendees in Saturday’s Bone Brooch workshop. I’d just received the pendants and couldn’t help but offer them as well. Just *eurgh* they all make my heart squee!

10.01.2022 With WA’s week of lockdown, testing, isolation and fires and floods, hasn’t this week been a doozy! To top it off, my little old man Cedar has been visibly deteriorating of late, amongst many other things, but it’s certainly been good to be completing commissions and personal works that spark joy, still plenty to be grateful for, for me, and I am sending all of you love in this time With current protocols, that involve travel restrictions, compulsory mask wearing and appro...priate distancing (plus access to PPE again, and my work as a live in support) this weekend’s workshops are being rescheduled as per advice. So, soon there will be new dates for Rat Taxidermy, Butterfly Pinning and Bones & Brooches. I’m hoping that by the 14th I’ll have the correct information to do so. In the meantime, please enjoy this Work in Progress, a Marron, it was caught on a friend’s property recently, and we had the privilege of eating it. And a photo of Cedar, having a snooze in his bed in the lounge See more

10.01.2022 Mulloway. My first fish skuzzle (skull puzzle). This was a long time coming due to the lengthy degreasing process necessary to get the bones clean and odour free. My client wanted to keep this memento of his big catch, shared and eaten with his family. Working on this piece was a great learning experience and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity

07.01.2022 A pleasure to make this custom piece for a lizard loving lady from her honey for Christmas Bobtail cast from my deceased boy, Bobzilla Hissalot, Monarch butterfly and faux flowers

05.01.2022 One of my besties commissioned this sweet bell jar pendant for one of my other besties for Secret Santa Spiny leaf insect nymph, fractured rodent skull from an owl pellet, amythest and flowers

03.01.2022 This dome was difficult, mostly because I wanted to fit shapes that didn’t fit, into a small round hole. But I did it! I skeletonised this seahorse, degreased, whitened and rearticulated it all to put into this little dome. It’s available for purchase
