This month, we will be running two days of 'Pop Up' Debating Workshops where children can learn in a fun and interactive environment, and come away learning some invaluable skills! Come to one or both. We're hosting our first Debating "Pop Up" on ... TUESDAY JANUARY 19th. Debating; the basics. If you have a child who is interested in debating then this is an excellent introduction. This is a one day workshop which introduces students to the basic concepts of debating, including how to interpret the topic, construct their debate, research material, and then present a debate at the end of the day. All materials and handouts provided. Lunch and morning tea provided. Time 10-4pm. Cost $75 WEDNESDAY JANUARY 20th. This workshop comprises three sessions. 1. FALLACIES. Students learn to identify faulty reasoning when making an argument. 2. EVIDENCE AND REASONING. Teaches children how to respond to and point out the flaws in the arguments of the opposition. All handouts and materials provided. Lunch and morning tea provided. Time 10-4pm.
