03.01.2022 Before I committed to standing for council the questions I asked myself were as follows; Are you passionate about achieving better outcomes for your community? Do you have good connections with your local community? Do you have good listening skills, and the ability to get your message across?... Are you a person of honesty and integrity? Are you reliable and trustworthy? I believe I have all of the above skills and that in order to understand and represent local views and priorities, you need to build strong relationships and encourage local people to make their views known and engage with you and the council. Good communication and engagement is central to being an effective councillor and to be able to communicate council decisions that affect them. Councillors who understand the importance of working together tend to have a better success rate at influencing decisions and achieving their priorities during their elected term. I am prepared to strive to be a councillor that the community can trust and respect. Vote 1 Debbie Arnott.
03.01.2022 There has been a lot of talk among candidates about what they would like to do for Warrnambool. There has been some fantastic and creative ideas. However I do think the new council will need to focus on WHAT they can do. Budget restraints will dictate what is going to be possible to achieve. A better outcome might be to consider the smaller and more urgent projects that can benefit the community. This is what I would like to initially put energy into. ... Vote 1 Debbie Arnott
02.01.2022 Voting for the Warrnmabool City Council Elections has now closed. It is now time for me to thank all the people that have supported me in my campaign! Without this support I would not have been able manage as well as I did. Thankyou each and everyone, family, friends, staff and acquaintances. As well congratulations to all the candidates. You have raised your hand to represent our community. Well done and all the very best. ... We will not know the result for a while yet, so we must be patient. Hopefully we can have a united and strong new council to represent our city. Many thanks and kind regards Debbie
