21.01.2022 BUSH FIRES - Something to help your children I always found reading to my children and children at my day care a really helpful way to work through emotions and concerns and open up conversations. We would chat about issues or problems through discussing the characters in the story and talk about how the characters might have felt or how they could help each other, I also extended this by incorporating small world play scenes where they could reinact the story through thei...r imaginations using small toys and objects from around my home If your not sure how to talk to your children about the current bushfires here in Australia check out this little online book, the link is below it might help your child work though any anxiety or concerns they might have and help open up some conversations so you can help them work through it The Birdie story below www.childrens.health.qld.gov.au//natural-disast/storybooks #freshlifeproject #smallworldplay
