24.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just putting the finishing touches to a painting that I started a while back. I’ll post the completed painting tomorrow.

18.01.2022 Last year we explored Central Australia again and found these gems which just begged to be painted! From a waterhole in the Channel country to the beautiful colours of gorges and late afternoon light. We’ve been twice now and I don’t think we’ve finished yet. Lots of other destinations to travel first though. My motto though.. repeat and repeat ! Soft pastel on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper. Art spectrum soft pastels and Ludwig soft pastels.

16.01.2022 Pastel on Colourfix.

16.01.2022 Margie Hurford and Diane Brown

12.01.2022 A small 10 x 15 cm study done on the back of a postcard just for fun! It’s a photo taken near Melrose at the base of the wonderful Flinders Ranges where these gigantic gum trees have scattered the landscape with their dignity and majestic presence. I took it several years ago but to be honest I’ve always felt that the time had to be right for me to try to capture their beauty. I may paint a few more postcards before I make my final attempt, just to get composition, light, scale etc. fingers crossed.!!

09.01.2022 "Bannockburn Bridge". Pastel on Art Spectrum colourfix.

09.01.2022 A view of beautiful ranges sliding past whilst driving along the Plenty Highway NT. Ever changing in ruggedness and colour and always fascinating! Soft pastel on colourfix.

09.01.2022 As promised here is the finished pastel. On one of our journeys to Cape York Far Nth Qld, we stopped to check out Old Laura Homestead. It was a bustling hub back in its day. Built in the beginning of the 1900’s it still stands today. Soft pastel on Colourfix paper.

08.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone. Stock Routes are interesting places and something I intend to explore more in 2019. They are ever changing due to drought, grazing, flood or just the seasons. Cheers for 2019 and hopefully I’ll get some more paintings up on this page!

05.01.2022 I painted this little dog Sydney for a friend of mine earlier this year. Was a real pleasure to try to capture the character of this little boy! Pastel on colourfix.

02.01.2022 Melrose again! Those magical gums and the inspiration to paint them is sometimes just too great. Pastel on Colourfix paper.

01.01.2022 Long time since I’ve put anything on here, but life has been very hectic the past couple of months. Hopefully I’ll be back at the easel again soon and get to these two block ins. The Old Laura homestead on Cape York was fascinating to me when we were last there. Hopefully I’ll finish them soon.
