07.01.2022 Posted @withregram @zigentala Here to break up all the COVID19 posts in your feed with this lovely shot of the second couture gown from my runway as a collaboration with @deborahselleckcouture. One of her NYFW gowns was transformed into a political piece - layers of organza adorned with trees, reaching up into a canopy of graffiti tags spelling out the problematic culture that has produced the climate crisis. I love that I was able to marry art and fashion to produce this ...striking statement - a garment that caught the eyes of many, and its message too. I painted this gown back when COVID19 wasnt as big of a threat, but how interesting to unveil this piece in a time where social responsibility has rippled out faster in the last 3 months than it has in years. Maybe the world wouldve endured years of political art and activism before we saw our power in action, banding together and combating a crisis... or maybe the world just needed a pandemic. We can look to the future to become a more sustainable industry that takes its responsibility to our planet seriously by reducing waste, polluting practices and eliminating the use of petrochemical products that contribute to climate change. Our made to order practice means we dont produce anything that is not required and wherever we can we reuse and recycle our waste products.
