20.01.2022 Concord Veterinary Hospital is proud to introduce a new service for our feline patients - the Concord Cat Clinic! We understand that for many cats, visits to th...e hospital can be stressful - especially if there is a noisy and busy waiting room with extended wait times. We are therefore offering our existing clients an appointment based Cat Clinic within the hospital. Visits can be annual check ups, new kitten visits to behavioural or unwell/sick consultations. The clinic will be run by Dr Rebecca who has a keen interest in feline welfare, behaviour and medicine. Dr Rebecca is currently studying to obtain her Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour through the International Society of Feline Medicine, and hopes to sit her membership exams in Feline Medicine in 2022. Concord Veterinary Hospital is already a Silver Accredited Cat Clinic through the International Society of Feline Medicine, and consultations will run from our dedicated feline consultation room. Dr Rebecca is the hospitals Feline Advocate for this program, and is passionate to providing tailored care for our feline friends through the new Concord Cat Clinic. We are trialing our Cat Clinic on Tuesdays starting tomorrow! Working only with solids for a while now because I have been highlighting decorative stitches, my fabric stash is overflowing. No time like the present..... Why not make 3 quilts I say. Never have I made the same quilt even twice let alone 3 times. But now I am . For my children and their loved one and us to snuggle underneath on these cold winters nights. Nothing like sleeping under a heavy clam shell quilt made with love. Okay, I took my stunning collection of art gallery and other designers fabrics and cut 5 1/2 inch squares. Fussy cutting if the fabric has a story. Cut 5 1/2 inch squares of fusible light weight interfacing.Traced the 5 inch clam shell template shape with a pen on the non fused side of this interfacing.. Pinned the right side of the fabric and the fusible side together. Stitched with a straight stitch a length of 2.0 on the top outside curve of the clam shell only. Trim away to a 1/8 th seam allowance and cut on the line for the sides and base of the clam shell. Then I turned the clam shell inside out. These will when I have enough will be blind hemmed appliquéd with clear Monopoly thread onto a white fabric base. I will post pictures of this once I am at that stage. I need a lot !!!!!! The clam shell is 5 inches wide and 5 inches long so depending on the width I want the quilts to be , I must do the maths. But its many, many clams......Lucky I love my clam shells.. The stash of fabrics is not really depleting , but rather getting out of the cupboard and being moved around a bit... Progress for me .....
