23.01.2022 A long read, but time is with us in abundance now, so please indulge me. I would like to share some Brisbane art connections with you this week. We have a wonderful artistic community in our city and like a lot of people, they will be severely affected by the Covid life challenges we now face. Many of you know my amazing PA Hayden, who has been working with me for over a year now. He does all admin, stock, invoicing, market stalls,customer service, shop and delivery serv...ices. What you dont know about Hayden is :- 1. Hes also an incredibly gifted musician:- a singer, keyboard genius and songwriter, currently doing his Master in Music 2. He plays keyboards with Brisbane sensation The Urban Sea ( listen to them on Spotify and Triple j) 3. His business is @haydenjohnsmusic 4. Podcaster 5. Sound engineering 6. He also plays in a hugely popular tribute band about Bruce Springstein and he was embrking soon on a 4week Cruise to Japan with the band, but all his gigs, including the cruise shows, have been cancelled. 7. I pay Hayden as a casual employee for 9 hours a week & wish i could afford more. 8. My beautiful customers have so generously supported my latest promotion of Jigsaw Puzzles enabling me to continue paying Hayden for a few more weeks. This means Hayden can, in turn, purchase food and pay his rent ! So thankyou everyone! 9. Its so vital that we all support our local small businesses so they can remain viable. 10. If anyone needs a reliable, funny, honest, committed, talented, fastlearning young man for a few hours a weeks admin duties- Haydens your guy. ( You cant have him fulltime though, cause I need him! 11. Or if you want some glorious live music during social isolation- Haydens your ticket to musical escape. 12. ...And hes obsessed with GummyBears , patterned socks, science and philosophy! He also keeps me inspired, laughing and makes THE best coffee! Tomorrow- some of my favourite Brisbane Artists!

02.01.2022 Brisbane friends, I have sad news this week- your colourful CityCats are to be no more! ln January, I was chuffed to learn that My houseboat wrap was to go on the new dble decker citycat and be back on the river around April. A call lastweek from Brisbane City Council informed me this was not happening. I am grateful for the 4 years the Mooroolbin CityCat showcased my art & it was marvellous to have people send photos when they spotted her. The real sadness is that... BCC will not be wrapping CityCats again -NONE !! Once the cats come in for service, the current wraps will be removed and the boats returned to the river in the boring blue & yellow! No Sporting Teams, no Anzac Spirit, no Indigenous spirit .....just no more Brisbane icons and pride on display. Brisbane will lose so much with this appalling decision by council.
