19.01.2022 Hey DEBrewers ... what a difference a day makes, right now, or a year! In March of 2019 we went from Melbourne to Canada, spent time with our Canadian family, then popped down to Seattle to meet up with Dons brother and sister and go to a baseball game!!!! Now, I like everyone, have been affected by the panic buying in the supermarkets. Rice in particular ... but rest assured I order in bulk and am organised, so BREWS are readily available at all my stockists.... As you all know, BREWS are satisfying, healthy, easy and economical meals. Theres loads of fresh vegies around, so make up a BREW or 2 and youll be set for several meals. Made from a CHILLI BREW, these meals are full of protein and goodness 1st Meal: Burrito ... A wholegrain burrito, filled with Chilli Brew, folded and topped with 2 tbs of Chilli Brew and grated cheese. Baked for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. 17.01.2022 Hello to all you DEBrewers, Firstly, again I thank you all for continually cooking up a storm .... and for sending me such wonderful feedback. Im so pleased to report that we have 2 new DEBrew outlets for you:... 1) Victors Gourmet Delicatessen in Cairns, Queensland 2) Lemon Tree Providore in Wynyard, Tasmania Ive recently restocked Woodbridge Village Store (TAS) ... they have done some wonderful renovations ... the most beautiful environment. BOHO in Kingston Beach (TAS) will be restocked this Thursday ... their renovations are really warm and inviting. Housekeeping - Ive gone back to the original recipe for MINESTRONE ... after the twins told me it was too spicy, I cut down the chilli ... then the twins mother, Kimberley, told me it was too bland!!! Gotta admit were feeling rather isolated down here ... who knows when we will have huggles again from our grandchildren? We have been really enjoying exploring this island, it just never ceases to be beautiful. Finally, signed our building contract last week and the plan is to start construction next month .... its only taken a year to get to this stage. 15.01.2022 Hello DEBrewers ... "WHATS FOR DINNER?" Must say I think about this every day ... but cooking a BREW every week does take some pressure off! Youre sure to have at least 2 nights of meals from one BREW ... and they make it easy to use up lots of vegies.... Melissa is going to share with you my latest suggestions for a CHILLI BREW ... a meal full of protein and goodness. Now ... we are missing ALL our family dreadfully, as Im sure you are. Emma had a birthday in Canada yesterday. Little George is walking all over the place. Weve been playing family UNO daily with our grandkids using FaceTime ... interesting dynamics! Reading the twins a bedtime story every night - they then make up a story each, very amusing, with fart being the popular theme word right now. Now, I love my husband, weve been married for 47 years ... but sometimes i just want him to toddle off to work! Politics brings out the best in him, which he likes to share with me. Of course, Bozley (our 16 1/2 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle) follows him around, when hes not snoozing in one of his 6 beds around the house. SHOPIFY is going well ... though Im still having to challenge postage inconsistencies. Were continuing the special - BUY 6 BREWS and receive a free one. Frustrating is my technology expertise - I just lost half of this post that Ive been working on this morning. Pressed the save button ... then posted and "where has the rest gone??" Im enjoying lots of funny and positive Facebook posts. Resisting the urge to compulsively shop online. Taken up knitting again. Keeping up with exercise. Cooking some great meals. 13.01.2022 Hey DEBrewers! Greetings from beautiful Hobart. Yesterday it was hot - 30 degrees, this morning its still dark at 7ish, windy and raining ... top of 17 degrees. Gotta say Im not missing the Queensland summers. Saw on the news this morning that in February Coolangatta has had 683mm of rain - wettest February in 43 years!! Now for a family update:... Emma and Gav are getting ready for their Canadian summer - loving their little family ... new addition George is too cute and such a happy little chappie. How gorgeous they are ... Kims twins started prep this month, they turn 5 on March 12 ... Nan has strict instructions on the birthday cake decorations.... Pressure!! They are a joy and loads of energy and fun. Don has taken on the role of Director of Sport at University of Tasmania and thriving. It is just down the road so he often pops home for lunch! Im really busy with BREWS - Melissa is keeping me on my toes. Our SHOPIFY is coming soon - I could never have done it on my own. Now, the video shows the little block we bought in Kingston Beach ... 10 minute drive from downtown Hobart. Our plans are approved and were now sourcing builders ... After renovating our whole lives, it will be fun to have everything brand new. Boz, our 16 year old spoiled ShitZhu/Poodle cross is still cruising along, though he sleeps a lot and does not like walking up steps or hills anymore. Now, Ive been doing lots of creative things with BREWS meals, which I need Melissas help to get organised. So stay posted! Happy cooking! Deb

11.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all you Mums ... and thanks to all the Dads too! Its a different day today ... sad because I dont have my Mum here anymore ... lonely because my WA family, our girls and our grandchildren are not with us ... satiated because Don cooked my favourite brekkie - French toast and bacon ... grateful because we are safe, our loved ones are safe and its a beautiful day in Hobart. We also had an invigorating walk along the beach this morning, followed by a c...offee and a winning crossword!!! BREWS are simmering along everywhere. Hill Street Grocer in Devonport have BREWS all over their store, so supportive. I just sent another order to Global Fine Foods in Brisbane, also restocked the Earth Markets in Logan, Woodbridge Family Store (Tas) have just revamped their store and have the BEST BREWS display ever! Were still playing family games, but it is interesting because I am definitely the least competitive player ... its challenging and I actually go out of my way NOT to win. Now, I just have to share this little video Kim sent us. The twins are using school I Pads and they have discovered Siri ... their new invisible friend. Okey Dokey - not much more to report. 08.01.2022 Hello DEBrewers ... from a chilly but glorious Hobart. Now, we just bought an electric blanket, so hopping into bed is a joy every night ... last winter we used hot water bottles!! Our house plans are finished, finally, so bring on the builders. I have a couple of housekeeping notes: * Ive reduced the amount of chilli flakes in the MINESTRONE ... after the twins told me it was too spicy! So, if you like your chilli, please add as much as you like.... * After a long day manufacturing, Don was busy with meetings and it was the coldest day yet ... we were considering pizza for dinner. Instead, I got a RISOTTO started, lots of mushrooms and kept working whilst it simmered away. I kept this BREW a little more moist (just with water) and it was so good. Usual presentation - on a bed of raw spinach with grated parmesan, natural yoghurt and spring onions on top. Must admit we had it again the next night. * Ive just restocked the Earth Markets in Robina and BREWS for The Pines, Elanora are on their way. Deli Planet in Canberra are selling lots and Cafe One 3 in Airlie Beach will have new stock early June. Finally, I want to thank all of you lovely people that continue to buy DEBrews and give me such positive feedback. By supporting me you are also helping all the businesses I supply. I do enjoy shutting myself in my little room, scooping away whilst I watch lots of good and bad TV. Actually, we just finished Schitts Creek ... what a joy it was and such lovely messages. 07.01.2022 Hi DEBrewers - I do hope youre all well and taking good care of yourselves .... Ive been flat out making BREWS for everyone. Dons working from home .... and helping out with deliveries! Were keeping in touch with our adorable grandchildren via Facebook .... but missing them terribly. Now my BREWS are economical, healthy, easy and practical meals ... perfectly suited to the current environment. Theyre full of good stuff and perfect for the entire family. Theyre als...o great to prepare and create with your children. Theyre full of ingredients that are difficult to find right now .... theyre all hand made by me in Hobart, using as many Australian products I can.
