20.01.2022 Hello to all you DEBrewers, Firstly, again I thank you all for continually cooking up a storm .... and for sending me such wonderful feedback. I'm so pleased to report that we have 2 new DEBrew outlets for you:... 1) Victors Gourmet Delicatessen in Cairns, Queensland 2) Lemon Tree Providore in Wynyard, Tasmania I've recently restocked Woodbridge Village Store (TAS) ... they have done some wonderful renovations ... the most beautiful environment. BOHO in Kingston Beach (TAS) will be restocked this Thursday ... their renovations are really warm and inviting. Housekeeping - I've gone back to the original recipe for MINESTRONE ... after the twins told me it was too spicy, I cut down the chilli ... then the twins mother, Kimberley, told me it was too bland!!! Gotta' admit we're feeling rather isolated down here ... who knows when we will have 'huggles' again from our grandchildren? We have been really enjoying exploring this island, it just never ceases to be beautiful. Finally, signed our building contract last week and the plan is to start construction next month .... it's only taken a year to get to this stage. Not much else going on ... bit chilly in Hobart, can't see us travelling anywhere our grandchildren are in the near future, Boz worried us with a bout of doggie coronavirus, we're hoping to start building our house in September - it's loads of fun picking all the new components ... rest assured I'll keep you updated. 11.01.2022 DEBrewers, Amazing how time flies when you're busy but passes so slowly when you're desperate to visit family. What's news? Sadly we lost our beautiful Bozley ... he almost made 18 ... what a legend. He passed peacefully - in his bed in front of the fire with Don's hand on his head. We miss him dreadfully.... We start building our little dream house in Kingston Beach next week ... so exciting. We had a mini break at Cradle Mountain for our 47th Wedding Anniversary last week ... very relaxing and no technology, which was challenging. The trees are covered in blossom, the days are getting longer and warmer. Never knew 'windy' till we moved here! Finally, Melissa moved back home to Malaysia ... it was just too hard here in these COVID times ... hence the long wait between posts (and this one has taken me 3 tries)!!! My next post - planned for tomorrow ... and the weather is wet so there's a good chance - will refresh you with all the places you can buy BREWS ... there are some new ones and all the regulars keep restocking. Stay well and keep on making BREWS and spreading the word ... Deb Now, I made the PAELLA BREW a different way ... Tomato and olive baked ... it was wonderful. Recipe as follows: 2 tbsp olive oil 2 sliced onions 1 red and 1 yellow capsicum, sliced 1 zucchini, halved and sliced into half-moons 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 100g chargrilled artichokes, halved 75g mixed pitted olives 75g semi-dried tomatoes PREHEAT oven to 180 degrees - heat oil (In a medium pan) and cook onion, capsicm and zucchini with a pinch of salt for 10 mins. Add garlic and stir in tomato paste and the BREW. Pour in 3 cups of hot water - add the artichoke, olives and tomatoes and mix well. Put in the oven for 45 minutes ... add more water if needed ... until rice is cooked and crisping on top. Of course, I served it with natural yoghurt, on a bed of spinach and chopped spring onions on top. If you want to add meat, add 2 sliced chorizo with the onion mix. So excited when finished I forgot to take a photo of the finished serve.
