25.01.2022 Our latest addition to our fleet! We bought this 1976 Scania lt 111 and we plan on restoring it to its former glory. Stay tuned for more updates of its journey!

24.01.2022 This was unit 25, which was the first Scania 124 sold in Australia. During the time we owned it most of the time it was used to pull around a Gofa Tanker carting Lime down the West.

22.01.2022 Here is Unit 14, which was a Daf 2800 that pulled a White Centurion Tipper to cart ore from Que River to Luina. When it was bought brand in new in 1985, it was John GM's truck. John drove it for a year before going on to manage the workshop.

18.01.2022 This one is from 1986! Pictured below is Bert and a Sales Rep from Daf after the purchase of a new Daf 2800 which was the first Daf bought in Tasmania ever!

18.01.2022 This is our old Scania 143M Topline, also known as the Canonball with a full load of spare Daf parts on it including three cabs. In 1995 we drove up to the Daf factory in Brisbane to collect all the spare Daf Parts when we bought out the remaining stock, left over after they ceased production of Dafs in Australia.

15.01.2022 One our two new Self Bunded Hydrochloric Acid Tanks getting installed at our Launceston Depot yesterday. The other one was installed at our Burnie Depot earlier in the week!

15.01.2022 This was Unit 23 a Daf 3600 which we bought in 1990 and got 21 years of faithuful service from it before selling it in 2011. It was used for a variety of different jobs, initially it pulled a tipper down the West Coast and then went on to pulling tautliners with General Freight across the State.

13.01.2022 We love the pride that our drivers have in their job and in keeping their trucks and equipment clean!

12.01.2022 A little update of whats been happening at our new Devonport Depot! Our new offices are coming along nicely and more concrete is being poured weekly. So far 3,250 cubic metres of concrete has been poured and we have another 4,750 cubic metres to go!

11.01.2022 This is an old one! We bought the truck and tanker secondhand from Jack de Bruyn in 1979 it was used to cart lime to the West Coast. The truck was sold in 1981 but the tanker wore out a couple more trucks before it was pensioned off.

10.01.2022 A very proud Bert back in 1986 with Unit 12, which was the the very first Daf purchased in Australia. This Daf 2800 would go on to cart Acid for most of its life down the West Coast.

08.01.2022 Did you know that De Bruyn’s Transport operates a freight forwarding business under the Bass Strait Transport brand. Bass Strait Transport operates from a state of the art facility in Altona North. Utilising a fleet of nearly 100 dedicated Trans Bass Trailers we offer FTL, LCL and express services in and out of Tasmania on a daily basis. 08.01.2022 Here is our old Mercedes 2435, unit 7. This truck was our third Mercedes which was purchased brand new in 1994 and was apart of our fleet until 2009 when it was sold. Most of the time unit 7 pulled a NCH End loader from our depot in Burnie.

08.01.2022 De Bruyn’s Transport operates it’s own maintenance department. Our highly qualified team of 13 mechanical staff consists of qualified mechanics, boiler makers and apprentices. Our team are factory trained and have the latest diagnostic equipment at their disposal to ensure we run a safe and reliable fleet of equipment to service our clients.

08.01.2022 This our team that runs our Cold Storage facilities in the north of the state in Burnie! We are incredible proud of the work they do!

07.01.2022 This was Unit 70 a Mercedes 2635 6 Wheel drive tha we bought in 1993. During it's years of service it was used for carting Ore at the Hellyer Mine to the crusher stockpile up the hill.

04.01.2022 This Daf 2500 Unit 15, was bought brand new in 1990 and was mainly used for carting bins around. After its many years of great use for the company John originally planned to restore it after he retired. But the 2016 floods got the better of it and it sadly ended up as scrap steel.

02.01.2022 Another throwback! Here is Unit 88, a Kenworth T404 Prime mover which was bought 2007 then sold in 2015. It was initially bought to cart nickel concentrate out of allegiance. Let us know is you have any memories of Unit 88!
