16.01.2022 Deb's Place: Respite Centre: UPDATE. I had a wonderful day yesterday chatting to mums and caregivers at the Bridgetown Support Group. Attached is the preliminary information that I have provided them about Deb's Place including our philosophy, what we can provide and our contact details. If this is something that appeals to you, a friend or a loved one, please use the contact numbers to get in touch, or send me a comment/message on facebook - there's no charge to chat and to see if we can offer you something to (1) give YOU, the caregiver a temporary break and (2) the child that you care for, some quality respite.

15.01.2022 Well it may not be as spectacular as Niagra Falls but I think our heart is in the right place! We will definitely be celebrating by making people aware of the prevalence of Autism in our local community and how we can all play a part in making the lives of these precious people who are our sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, grandchildren etc, that bit easier, with just some simple tolerance and appreciation that we are not all made the same. And how boring would this world be if we were all the same! See you after two sleeps at Deb's Place Tea and Sympathy Tearoom) on Thursday, 2nd April, 5pm and help us to light the tearoom up blue!

I am sure we have all been in situations where we have seen and heard a parent or carer attempting to get a child to stop doing what they are doing, especially in a shopping centre, cafe, park, at school and the like. How often have we heard the word no being used, sometimes, with no effect and sometimes, for no reason? For children that hear the word no all the ti...Continue reading

10.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! We want to celebrate the amazing 1 Million Women Community. You are sensational, powerful and together we can achieve amazing things! We can make change happen.

10.01.2022 Alexander celebrated his 15th Birthday with friends at The Social Club on Friday night at Deb's Place. The Social Club provides a fabulous opportunity for everyone to learn to tolerate others, share, trust, practice social and language skills, interact with students from other schools and generally experience an outing in a safe and supportive environment. Plus, you get to eat cake! (not all the time!). Was so nice to hear Alexander make his birthday wish - he wished that the Social Club would never end! How lovely.
