24.01.2022 Today I received a beautiful e mail from a grateful parent that had me in tears- happy tears. It is these moments that I treasure and confirm why I love being an OT working with amazing kids. This week has been O.T week and I consider myself very lucky to have been an OT for 22 years. I love my job but there are still days when I question if I do make a difference with what I do. A few simple words in an e mail made my day!

18.01.2022 This is something I try and do every day and also encourage my kids to do it to. My daughter made some chocolate treats for her swim coach yesterday. The coach then shared them with all the kids in the squad. 30 smiling kids at the end of a hard session. Small gestures can make a big difference!!

16.01.2022 As a busy working mum I am always multitasking. Saturday night at the drive in movies with my oldest daughter and friends to celebrate her birthday ( a little early) and I am using the time to write reports in the back of the Ute! Too old to watch Clueless and Meangirls!!

16.01.2022 Great news! All kids love time in K mart!!

15.01.2022 These amazing creations were completed in my OT sessions this week. When given the challenge to make something each child stated it was too difficult. By breaking the task down, selecting the right number of pieces and following the step by step instructions this is what they went on to achieve! They were so proud with what they created!!

10.01.2022 Researchers from the University of Tasmania are seeking parents of children, on the autism spectrum and typically developing children, aged between 3 and 16 to ...participate in a study that will investigate parenting stress, and assess whether the Autism Parenting Stress Index (APSI) accurately measures parenting stress for parents of children on the spectrum. Additionally, this study aims to identify what factors influence parenting stress and how these factors differ between parents in different parenting situations (e.g. parents of typically developing children and parents of children with ASD). Visit our website for more information or to participate https://bit.ly/3mikdAy
