25.01.2022 Well, tonight was supposed to be our re-start for 2020. But there are still too many cases of Covid-19 spreading in the community Keep safe everybody.

24.01.2022 Just had a conversation with Ausdance. While we are required to adhere to the new 1 person per 2 square metre rule. The 1.5 metre "social distancing" seperation is a recommendation not a requirement.

23.01.2022 Okay Folks - This is not a decision I make lightly All dancing at Upbeat Chaos is cancelled. We will RETURN TO DANCING on the 20th April 2020... (we weren't dancing on the 6th & 13th April anyway) I didn't want to have to do this, but from phone calls and emails received, attendance is going to be way down and we do want to keep everybody safe. Making a small sacrifice now may prevent bigger consequences later. I will ring and/or text everybody at club later today.

21.01.2022 Will Summer ever end (Yes, I know it's Autumn). Another hot night at UpBeat. Grateful that the dancers are still enthusiastic. 3 squares to start the night - 27 dancers through the door. Great to see Denice back at club, she's been away on an extended holiday. Hazel's name came up for the members draw, but she wasn't wearing her badge. We gave her a "Hall Pass" because they are still unpacking after their recent move - a show of hands allowed her to take the $10. We finished 15 minutes early due to the heat. We are hosting the Society AGM on Sunday, starting at 2pm.

20.01.2022 Still a bit of rain around, but the temperature was a little better. 22 dancers through the door. For the first time this year, we managed a full night of dancing. There are still a couple of our friends we haven't seen this year. Played with quite a few movements from different arrangements, the dancers did quite well. Bill would have won the members draw, but he's away on a cruise. Finished with 3 Singing Calls while the dancers swapped in and out.

20.01.2022 When is the weather gonna get normal again? It didn't stop raining all day. Upside - there was a major drop in temperature. 17 Dancers through the door, we did dance 2 squares most of the night. Thanks to those that braved the relentless rain. We did a bracket with a 6 couple Rectangle - mixed success from both sides of the microphone. Really nice to have Glenys with us after an extended absence from dancing. Mayet would have won the members draw, but she wasn't wearing her badge (Sorry Mayet, you don't have a really good excuse). Let's hope all goes well for next week - here's my wishlist. 1. Dry - no rain 2. Cool - around early to mid 20's 3. Not Humid - sick of feeling sticky

20.01.2022 You guys are gonna be in for a treat if we ever get back to square dancing. I have so much new music that we haven't danced to yet.

19.01.2022 Covid Safe Rules for when we return on the 3rd of August. No Tea, Coffee & Biscuits for foresee-able future - maybe 2021? Please try to have the correct change for Entry ($7.00)... No Christmas party this year. We will have an end of year dance. Please bring your own Drinks and/or Water Bottle Hand Sanitiser will be available, possibly think about bringing your own as well. Liquid Soap will be available in the facilities Social Distance must be maintained when not actually dancing. Couples do not have to Social Distance from each other. It is recommended that all dancers download the Covid safe app. If you are unwell in any way, please stay at home. If you have any Cold or Flu-like symptoms, please get tested. If you test positive, stay home and also let me know (0413017778) (I will also have to let the venue Owner/Manager know) In the case of a Dancer testing positive, Names & Phone Numbers will be supplied to Qld. Health for contact tracing. If any Dancer tests positive for Covid-19, the club will close for at least 2 weeks. Chairs, Tables and Surfaces will be disinfected before and after the dance. 18.01.2022 Hi Folks, I've just had a look forward to April. Both the 5th (Easter Monday) and the 26th (Anzac Public Holiday) are public holidays. We traditionally take those nights off. Majority rules - Will we take those 2 nights off???????

18.01.2022 Hi there Folks. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. As of today , it's only 47 days until we start dancing at Deception Bay again. 1st February 2021. I hope to see you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

17.01.2022 You can never keep a caller down. Tonight was supposed to be Hawaiian/Island party night at UpBeat Chaos. I only had the one square and they didn't really want to move too fast but I perservered. Covid-19 can't stop me.

15.01.2022 To all the UpBeat Chaos dancers. Thanks for your support, even though we have not been dancing recently. Even as the club returns to dancing on the 3rd of August, circumstances may not be right for some of you to return just yet. Know that we'll all be glad to see you when you feel the time is right. Also, our best wishes to those that are going through health issues, we hope for the best possible outcomes for you.

14.01.2022 O.K. folks, I can't fight it anymore. I have absolutely no idea when square dancing will re-commence. I've tried to be positive about this lock down, but it has proved futile. Social distancing makes it impossible to dance and with Qld. health unable to return emails, we are in limbo. I hope we'll be back at dancing soon. I'll talk to you all shortly.

12.01.2022 What a great first night, post Covid. 31 dancers in the hall, all having a great time. We danced 3 squares most of the night. We were all (including me) a little rusty. Everyone was so glad to be back, the hall didn't stop buzzing all night. Terese won the members draw.... Awesome to have Chris & Helen from Ipswich with us. 07.01.2022 ***Attention***Attention***Attention***Attention*** Well, we were hoping that the Pandemic would be sorted by now, but it's not. Today (20-May 2020) the QCA Exe...cutive, in conjunction with the organising committee from Hervey Bay have had to make the decision to "postpone" the 39th Queensland State Convention. It will still be in Hervey Bay and it will still be the 39th Convention, but we are looking at dates somewhere around August 2021 Standby for more information as it comes to hand. See more

04.01.2022 Fingers crossed, with a little luck , we may be allowed to dance (with some covid safe rules) towards the end of July. Maybe we'll plan for a re-start in the first week of August.

02.01.2022 I've been calculating the number of dancers we can have at our hall when we recommence dancing. It has a capacity of 72 people, assuming 4 SqM per person. This should not present a problem as we usually don't dance that many people.

02.01.2022 Well Folks, a little bad news for the club. While she hasn't danced with us for a little while, we are about to lose Annette Gadd. She has made the huge decision to move to Tasmania to be near family. She will be at Deception Bay next Monday the 22nd February with some square dance apparrel for sale. I'm sure we all will wish her the best.
