24.01.2022 Year 10 Legal Studies had the opportunity to visit the Brisbane District and Supreme Courts this week. They were lucky enough to spend an hour with a District Court judge, overviewing the way in which Criminal Court trials take place. Students then had the chance to visit a variety of court rooms and watch sentencing proceedings and trials. The students demonstrated fantastic behaviour and represented our school with pride.
23.01.2022 This week is Mental Health Week. The week aims to raise awareness of mental health issues in the community and to offer ways in which we can all improve our mental wellbeing. Attached is a list of ideas for promoting wellbeing amongst students. You might like to try some of these yourself. The important thing is that we get the message out there that we all need to look after our mental health. During Lunch One on Wednesday, the Support Staff will be setting up a pop-up stall with information and resources to distribute to students. There will also be RU OK? Muffins on offer.

18.01.2022 To confirm, this Monday (12/10), students in year 10, 11 and 12 will be permitted to wear general uniform. This is to accommodate the expectation that they will be in full formal uniforms for their awards ceremonies later in the week. That is - only year 12s attending the awards ceremony on Wednesday night (14/10)6pm-7:30pm will be required to wear full formal uniform this week. All year 10 and 11 students will be required to wear full formal uniform on Thursday (15/10) in p...eriods 1 and 2. They may bring a change of general uniform and wear it from first lunch onwards on Thursday. For students in years 7, 8 and 9, full formal uniform is expected as usual this Monday.

14.01.2022 Year 12 students studying a Certificate III in Hospitality attended their final work placement over the past two weeks. All students received positive praise from all of our partner businesses. Thank you for your continued support.
12.01.2022 Senior Visual Art students visited the Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Art Gallery on Friday as part of their assessment. Each student documented their personal experience of the day through photographs, sketches, rubbings, sound recordings and videos depending on what their selected focus. For some students this included the train journey into Brisbane City, artworks featured in the galleries, city and river views; this collected evidence will be used as the inspiration for their next body of work.

The live streams will be activated approximately 1 hour prior to the scheduled events. Step 1: Click on the link ---> https://elearn.eq.edu.au/webapps/collab-ultra//collabultra Step 2: Enter your MIS username and password. Your child should know what these are. If for example their name was John Smith, their user name could... be something like jsmit1. The password will be the same as their school emails password. If your child has forgotten their password, they will need to see the school’s IT technicians prior to the awards ceremonies to renew their password. Step 3: Locate the My Courses section and click on DBSHS 2020 End of Year Ceremonies. NOTE: On a computer / tablet, this is usually located on the right hand side of the screen. On a mobile phone, this is usually located by scrolling down the screen. Step 4: Select DBSHS 2020 Awards Ceremonies (Click to select Livestream) link. Step 5: Select Year 12 Awards Evening (14/10/2020) or Year 10/11 Awards Ceremony (15/10/2020). Step 6: Click on Join session Step 7: Click on "Allow" to use microphone. 02.01.2022 Students in Mrs Woodward’s year 9 Humanities class are currently studying Australia’s involvement in WW1. Over the past few lessons students have had the opportunity to engage in rotational station style activities including creating models of Gallipoli, creating a map of countries involvement, reading and writing activities and a creative drawing approach. The students in 9L have been fantastically engaged and are creating impressive representations of their knowledge. Great work students!
02.01.2022 Attention Year 12s QCE and Final Results release Next Saturday, December 19th Year 12s will be able to access their results from the website www.myqce.qld.edu.au . Students will be able to download and print their own QCE or nominate to have them printed and mailed out.
