22.01.2022 We know independent assessments are a big change for people applying to access the NDIS, and for existing participants. And we understand that change can create... uncertainty. We are committed to working with participants, their families and carers, peak bodies, disability organisations and peer and family networks between now and the start of independent assessments, to make sure they work effectively for participants. We’re already hearing from participants and the disability community about what they’d like to know about the introduction of independent assessments. We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) on our website: https://bit.ly/33aNch4

18.01.2022 Social Skills Training Institute (SST) has a continued commitment to empowering children across the globe, especially right now when they need it most. Many SAS... families have experienced disruption to their SAS groups and individual work while their clinics and schools transition their services to meet the pandemic regulations. Please be assured that you are not alone, this is happening all over the world. Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapist, Schools and other service professionals are changing the way they deliver the SAS programs to you and your children. In many ways this is forcing much needed innovation across health, disability and education sectors. Here is a brief message to our SAS Families from the Chief Operating Officer and Clinical Psychologist here at SST Headquarters.

10.01.2022 WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Autism Awareness Australia is developing a digital tool kit called Autism: What Next? It will be a central hub to help individuals and famil...ies navigate the diagnostic process and support them in that first year. For decades, one of the most common issues in autism has been the lack of quality information and guidance available to parents and individuals seeking and receiving an autism diagnosis. By filling in this survey and telling us about your experiences, you will help inform this project which will make the process easier for families and individuals in the future. Tell us what you would have wanted the most during the diagnostic period. We have 3 survey types for you to choose from depending on your circumstances. We would love to hear from you. Survey closes Sunday 14 June 2020. Start the survey now at Autism:What next? https://buff.ly/2zFeh19 This project is developed by Autism Awareness Australia, supported by Amaze and funded by the National Disability Insurance Agency as part of Autism Connect.
