24.01.2022 Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) SA - Food Export Forum: Opportunity, Risk and Reward AIBC SA was proud to present this successful forum, which provided insights about the Indonesian market opportunities available for SA businesses. This forum was opened by Australia Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Senator The Hon. Simon Birmingham and The Assistant Minister to the Premier, Multicultural Affairs, Department of the Premier and Cabinet, The Hon. Jing Lee... MLC. The forum was facilitated by Jim McMillan, SA State Chair of AIBC SA, an experienced barrister and former tax partner with PWC in Indonesia (advising tax and business issues associated with doing business in Indonesia), and three other panelists: Patrick Kearins, the State Director of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (AusTrade) shared his long-term involvement with Indonesia in trading between the two countries. Robert Chong, founder and CEO of Commodore Trading, shared his 50 years plus experience in facilitating food and wine exports from Australian producers to Indonesian customers. Amalia Sosrodiredjo, Managing Director of Decorum Group Pty Ltd also AIBC SA Committee was honoured to be one of panelists at the forum. She presented available market size, buying power of the Indonesian middle class, customer behaviour as well as the importance of understanding culture and language to support the trade. The forum was held as an interactive dialogue between the panelists and the audiences. At the end both panelists and audiences had wonderful opportunity to network as well as continuing with further discussions of the topics. 22.01.2022 All of South Australia's power comes from solar panels in world first for major jurisdiction "Never before has a jurisdiction the size of South Australia been completely run by solar power, with consumers' rooftop solar systems contributing 77 per cent." Large-scale solar farms, like the ones operating at Tailem Bend and Port Augusta, provided the other 23 per cent.
