21.01.2022 Located right at the harbour of Port Adriano, Cap Adriano offers views of the Mallorcan coast. The project has 9 villas with private access to the sea and private swimming pools, and a block of 10 apartments, accompanied by a communal pool, on the highest part of the plot. The project is inspired by the typical architecture of Mallorca: in the apartment block, the ground floor covered with natural stone stands out resembling a Mallorcan "marge", while the white faades and t...he large terraces on the three upper floors give the building a touch of lightness. The villas, on the other hand, are built in different volumes developed around an internal patio, all of them covered in a different material, always respecting the Mediterranean-Majorcan tradition: dry stone that extends towards the interior of the houses, Santany stone and white facades. On Friday October 26th a very selected group of high-profile guests, including designers, architects, journalists and design connoisseurs, participated in an exclusive event at Cap Adriano, in the Calvi neighborhood on Mallorca, for the presentation of the magnificent residential project developed in partnership by Minotti, Terraza Balear and Engel & Vlkers. This exceptional project took place in a spectacular 1000 m2, two-story home by GRAS Arquitectos. The sophisticated interior designed entirely by Minotti Studio and Terraza Balear seamlessly blends the elegant, timeless style of Minotti furniture with the Mediterranean aesthetic typical of the island. Entertained by a delightful opera performance, the guests had an up-close experience with the unrivaled beauty and luxury of the homes interior and exterior, furnished with an accurate selection of Minotti furniture, including best- and long-sellers and the most recent pieces from the 2018 Collection. In addition to a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean (thanks to the massive floor-to-ceiling windows), the home has six bedrooms, six baths, three living areas, a gym and an outdoor pool. The interiors were interpreted through a soft palette of beige and cream tones that convey a refined, contemporary vibe. 18.01.2022 On the occasion of the 2019 Venice Film Festival, Davide Groppi presented NelBlu, a sensory journey of light and art at the renowned Peggy Guggenheim Collection. A lighting installation inspired by the main themes of the surrealist movement, in particular Ren Magrittes LEmpire des Lumires ( The Empire of Light ) one of the works on display at the museum. Just like in surrealist cinema, painting and photography, light is also a fundamental element in NelBlu which unleashes profound sensations, casting doubt on our typical perceptions.

For months, images of the latest Virgil Abloh-designed Nike Dunk have bounced around the corners of the Internet, tempting the streetwear and luxury crowds at both ends of the fashion spectrum. This time around, the in-demand designer chose to rework the cult-loved Dunk Low, a long-time favourite among hoops fans, stylish skaters, and sneaker-heads alike. In pure Abloh form, the classic sneaker gets dressed up into an object of fashionable desire thanks to a few familiar motifs as well as some brand-new ones, too. Nike Dunks made their debut in 1985, borrowing some design DNA from the Air Force 1 but with the addition of bold color blocking, and when the 2000s rolled around, the shoe took off among skaters and sneaker heads. Skaters liked the shoe for its design and durability while sneaker heads liked the limited-edition colorways and collaborations. Abloh certainly knows all of this and is looking to build off the style and goodwill the silhouette already holds. Staying true to the original profile, the designer has added secondary lace loops and fluorescent cable laces to create a hiking-boot inspired fit Some of the usual Nike x Off-White detailsrough-around-the-edges foam tongue, Helvetica-adorned side, and glossy zip tieare still featured. 15.01.2022 Knoll presented new designs by Piero Lissoni in tandem with reimagined Modern classic designs at IMM Cologne 2019, Germanys international home and furnishings fair. This is the first time Knoll has exhibited at IMM Cologne. In keeping with the Modern Always philosophy, Knoll presented new creations alongside modern classics in an extremely stylish space featuring great attention to detail.... The installation, designed by OMA, a Dutch-based architecture firm founded by Rem Koolhaas, honors the one hundredth anniversary of the Bauhaus. The relevance of the functional, international style of design pioneered by the German art school has remains. Knoll explored the work of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, a master of twentieth century architecture. Divided into four spaces, each area of the pavilion replicates a different architectural masterpiece for which Mies designed unique furniture collections: the house in Krefeld (1927); the Weissenhof estate in Stuttgart (1927); the Barcelona Pavilion (1929); and the Tugendhat house (1930). Visitors experienced a sequence of striking combinations of architecture and furniture, including designs by Piero Lissoni, ranging from the Red Baron bookcase to the KN01 and KN02 chairs to the Grasshopper table. Lissonis pieces are paired with iconic pieces from the MR and Barcelona Collections by Mies van der Rohe. To honor the brands historical ties to the Bauhaus, Knoll has created commemorative, Bauhaus Editions of the MR Collection and the Barcelona Chair. The MR Collection features new fabric and leather options. In addition, the Company will produce 365 certified and numbered Barcelona Chairs, one for each day of 2019.

02.01.2022 A sense of effortlessness, sophistication and ambition were the hallmarks of the winning projects in the 2018 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). The winners of this years awards were announced at a glittering gala at Sydneys Centennial Homestead on Friday 23 November, which saw over 500 of the leading lights of the A&D community gather to celebrate their peers. IDEA is Australias largest and most successful independent design awards program and celebrates the best ...of Australian interior and product design across 13 Categories and five Special Awards. On the jury for the 2018 IDEA awards were Christopher Boots, Director (Christopher Boots), David Flack (Flack Studio), Hamish Guthrie (Hecker Guthrie), Iain Halliday (BKH), Jan OConnor (environa studio), Christie Petsinis (Folk Architects) and Kirsten Stanisich (Richards Stanisich). Each year the design bar is raised but 2018 is a red-letter year for innovation and creativity. Within each category there is a continued propensity for the blurring of boundaries. In particular, the hospitality, workplace, retail and residential sectors have delivered exciting interpretations of the clients brief. Dedece Melb showroom Designed by Co-Ap The Designers Project Notes " Dedeces new Melbourne showroom is housed within a former goods warehouse that is located within an industrial estate. As such, the buildings typology consisted of a double height warehouse and loading dock fronting Dale Street with an adjoining two story administration unit at the rear. The concept behind this project was simply to create a room with two views. Existing facade openings were removed from the concrete tilt-up panel facade. New internal structure allowed for the removal of multiple tilt-up modules to form new 4.4m high window bays at each corner and side to activate views of the park across the road and to an existing mature tree within the estate. Internally, a T-shaped mezzanine was inserted into the double height space to form two dramatic voids framed by the new corner windows. A large sculptural staircase was set within one of these voids to break the internal spatial symmetry. The new glass entry vestibule was recessed under the new mezzanine soffit, providing visitors with a spatial experience where they are compressed and released into the double height voids as they explore the furniture settings. The material palettes for the lower and upper showrooms had to be complimentary where they overlap, whilst allowing the differences of Dedeces two major brands Minotti & Knoll to be defined. Hence the moody and sophisticated palette of Minotti downstairs meets a fresh modernist palette introduced upstairs for Knoll through the use of lightweight porcelain marble tiles."
