23.01.2022 My training Today. You may ask why am I putting this up? Because I want to share my experience with all of you out there. I woke up today feeling the tank is pretty empty and eyes glaze over. I ran through every excuses in my head not to do the training. But I did not listen to any of them, I persevere and got myself out. Yes it was one of the toughest session I've ever done, and boy was I glad when it's over I finally sat down for that coffee. So here it is. Motivation is bu...llshits, if you wait till you feel like you are ready to train, most likely you will never do it. You do the training when you lock it in no matter how you feel, muster up some courage, some resilience and comittments and just get out, even if it's just for a short period and an easier session. That's how you build Perseverance and long term this will pay off I promise. Have a an amazing day peeps. #motivation #courage #resiliance #determination #fitnesschallenge #fitness #healthadvice #fitnessjourney #sucess #perseverance See more

21.01.2022 According to a national survey by the RACGP (Australian College of General Practitioners), many GPs will not initiate a conversation about physical activity wit...h a patient they know to be resistant to changing long-term habits. As a result, GPs feel more comfortable prescribing medication, as patients more easily accept them So while Exercise Right for Doctors week is all about educating doctors and nurses to understand the importance of prescribing exercise to their patients, it goes both ways! We ALL need to embrace change and take accountability for our own health. Be part of the change - TALK to your GP about exercise as medicine for subsidised access to an Accredited Exercise Physiologist Learn more on our website: exerciseright.com.au/exercise-right-doctors/ #ExerciseRight #ExerciseIsMedicine See more

20.01.2022 A recent study suggests that walking with a PURPOSE is much more effective than walking for leisure. I.e. Walking to run an errand, get home from work or go to ...an appointment is more effective than going for a stroll around the block. The study found that those who walked with a purpose, and made a habit of it, walked faster and reported better health. WHY? Walking with a purpose averages 4.3 kilometres per hour, compared to 4.1 kilometres per hour for recreational walking. Start walking with a purpose today with the After Work Walk! Get off the train or bus one stop early and walk the rest of the way home. Or if you drive to work, park further away! We can’t wait to see your After Work Walk photos! 19.01.2022 Millions of people worldwide are living with two or more chronic conditions - known as multimorbidity. Multimorbidity is often managed by treating each chronic... condition separately using multiple medications from several health care providers. A recent review looking at adults aged 50-85 with at least two chronic conditions, showed that exercise improved quality of life! It reduced anxiety and depression symptoms, reduced risk of hospitalisation, pneumonia, and extreme fatigue and patients were able to walk longer. The exercise used in the studies were supervised by an Exercise Physiologist and included aquatic exercise, strength training, aerobic training and tai chi. The study concluded exercise could be a safe and effective therapy instead of increasing drug prescription in people with multiple chronic conditions Speak to your GP and ask to be referred to an Accredited Exercise Physiologist to start improving your quality of life! 09.01.2022 Exercise not only reduces your risk of chronic disease, but it can help you to manage chronic conditions after you've been diagnosed. This... week, we're campaigning for change... We want all GPs and practice nurses to talk to their patients about their physical activity levels. By partnering with Exercise is Medicine Australia, we're promoting a FREE online course for doctors and nurses which helps explain: a) The benefits of exercise b) How to assess activity levels c) How to refer to an appropriate exercise professional Whether you're a doctor, nurse or patient, we've also created free resources to help you learn more about how exercise can keep you healthy. Visit our website for more information: exerciseright.com.au/exercise-right-doctors/ #ExerciseRight #ExerciseIsMedicine

06.01.2022 Aussie men, listen up... You're not moving enough!! Each week, men aged 18 - 64 need to do at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activ...ity PLUS strength training on at least two days to stay healthy. Only 17% of Australian males meet both aspects of these guidelines (and it's negatively affecting their health). So what can we do about it? AUSSIE MEN NEED TO MOVE MORE. To start moving more safely, remember to start slowly and gradually build up in duration and intensity. If you have an injury, persistent pain or a chronic condition, it's also important to seek out advice from an accredited professional before getting started. Head to our website to find an expert near you! #ExerciseRight

06.01.2022 If youre looking for sympathy, dont watch this video. Winners never quit and quitters never win. Right now you need to stop licking your wounds and as we say ...in the midwest put your big-girl-panties on and get back in the ring. If you want your dreams to come true, you have to fight for them. Give me a in the comments.

05.01.2022 Strength training is often forgotten about. Although approximately half of Australian adults get 150 minutes of physical activity each week, only 15% meet the N...ational Strength Training Guidelines. Strength training not only helps to make you stronger and more mobile, it can also increase bone density which reduces your risk of osteoporosis. Doing regular resistance training can also help with weight management. To maintain health, it is recommended that those aged 18 - 64 do strength training exercises at least twice each week. Sadly, only half of Australian universities are teaching our future doctors about these guidelines. If you'd like to learn how to start strength training safely, talk to your GP about a referral to an appropriately qualified exercise professional. Or find your local Accredited Exercise Physiologist here: essa.org.au/find-aep #ExerciseRight #ExerciseIsMedicine
