22.01.2022 BARB RIZIO LIVED AND LOVED... Barb died unexpectedly 26th July 2019, three months after this fabulous night when her son married the girl of his dreams. @Lulu and Lime ... I was fortunate enough to marry Michael and Bec and incredibly honoured when I was asked to farewell Barb. Barb was colourful both inside and out, she loved loud music across all generations, danced any chance she could, loved a party and was partial to a glass of bubbles. But mostly Barb loved her family deeply and was fiercely loyal to them all. Having them all together gave her the most happiness and this night was the last time she was with them all...having the time of her life. Barb’s funeral was full of stories...mostly very funny stories and there was a lot of music and singing. My most memorable moment was when 300+ people sang to Barb...we sang ‘Dancing Queen’ (ABBA) the most fitting song. There was a moment during this when her 2 sons Michael & Patrick held one another and swayed to our voices, it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed and a moment that will bond them forever. After the service all 300 + went to celebrate Barb...we drank, we ate, there were more stories and the most fabulous big loud party. There was a lot of laughter and plenty of tears, it was grief and it was healthy. The party went until the wee hours of the morning and everyone felt as though they’d given Barb a send off that she would have thoroughly loved. Now a year on...we can’t have everyone together again but I’m sure today the music will be loud, the glasses full and the laughs and tears a plenty.
