25.01.2022 Good to see BETAIMA is going to start her broodmare career, just down the road at Telemon Stud, heading to freashman sire SUN CITY. We will be following her stud career closely. Her mum (Naima) is due a full sibling to BETAIMA this season.

24.01.2022 Branding day on the farm, another crop down! Whittington's, Better Than Ready's, Sidestep and a Spill The Beans. With this done means foaling season and Breeding season isn't far away. We have a BTR, Whittington, Sidestep and exciting 1st season sires Jungle Cat and Performer. We have a very exciting maiden mare due (to be revealed soon), with our trusty foundation mares and a new edition to our broodmare band to get into foal! We are heading South this year with some of our mares and can not hold.our excitement with the season ahead!

18.01.2022 Deejay Bloodstock 'Staff' Profile: PIPER aka 'the farm sausage'! PIPER joined the Deejay team 5 months ago. She arrived weighing a mere 2kgs and was a bit green, so learning the farm was hard. She had to learn quickly about the pool yard, yearlings, foals, mares and the dreaded chickens. She has dodged afew hawks, the cats not too sure about her and we have afew cranky chooks. She has learnt to be quick on her feet and is next to Dane most days. Now at a 3.9kgs, nearly fully matured, she is now currently earning her badge as chicken herder. We are very happy with our farm sausage and she will be the first to greet you if you were to come to the farm.

17.01.2022 Our last foal was born lastnight a FILLY, by Whittington. She is a big girl. So, our tally for the year is: 4 x fillies and 3 colts...an awesome mixture of Qlds best sires in Better Than Ready, Whittington, Spill The Beans and Sidestep. Can not wait to see how they all grow!

12.01.2022 After the past few weeks of drama, a new season is fast approaching! 3 mares are now in the waiting room paddock! Naima - one of our foundation mares, is 1:7 th...is year. Excitement is close, but with it much fear and anticipation - the hard work hasnt even started yet. Fires, floods, drought, a pandemic, no international travel and now state border restrictions again....the past 11 months have been very interesting for us as a family, small business owners, farmers and breeders. Today we sponsored the U8s beginners class at our local Fassifern Horse & Pony Club gymkahana, well-done to all the competitors - and to all those who also ventured out in this heat! It was a great day. To all the volunteers and commitee members from the club, be very proud of what was achieved today, all your hard work did not go unnoticed. To the lovely children and hardworking parents from all the other clubs, we...ll-done...I would love to mention and give a very special thanks to the beautiful kids and parents in the U8's beginners group - our darling daughter had the best day (first comp on her new horse). Your kindness, your childrens sportsmanship and encouragement were what made a little girls day, you are to be very proud. Thank you to the U8's from the Rathdowney and District Pony Club and Beaudesert Pony Club. We have to remember we all started somewhere and kindness is free. See more

01.01.2022 Lastnight we had the 2nd last foal born of the season...a lovely COLT by the 2019 Australian 2yr old sire SIDESTEP, out of one of the familes foundation mares: La Isla Bonita (NZ)

01.01.2022 DJ - people have been asking where we got our name, how we designed our brand? Was it that we liked music, did we pick 2 letters out of the alphabet or was there some deep meaning behind it? There is a story: Dane and I (Jamie) have been together for 13 years, we met at the beautiful horse stud in NZ, Haunui Farm (many moons ago)...Dane was in the yearling team and me in the broodmare team. As most stud relationships start - we started as colleagues, friends, then fell in l...ove. Dane was promoted to stallion manager at Haunui and managed the very successful stallions, Elusive City, Don Eduardo and Iffraaj, during this time we had our handsome son. Dane was offered a chance of a lifetime to be apart of the foundation team, run by Luke Geddes, at Waratah Thoroughbreds, in the beautiful Southern Highlands in NSW, during this time we had our beautiful daughter. We then decided that we must settle and make a home....with our families support, we moved to the little town of Boonah, Qld. Dane secured a job at Yarramalong Park Thoroughbreds as stud manager, where he was able to learn about raising horses and racehorses in Qld for an amazing 4 years. This is also where we were given the opportunity to be apart of the story, of the highly successfull SEQ Stallion - Better Than Ready. Our journey to the DJ brand was not only ours, but everyone who has been with us along the way, apart of becoming who we are as a stud, supported and guided us....the conjoined DJ is Dane and Jame. This brand is about the journey, the knowledge, education and time (Rome wasn't built in a day). We still have long way to go, but we are so proud of what we produce and the horses that bare our brand. Every horse will have a story, the strength and determination, just like us. Dane and I (finally) got married at the family farm this year, with our two beautiful children by our side - it was perfect. As a stud and a family we have endured, drought, fires, floods and a pandenic. We are excited about our future in the industry, as breeders and as owners. We can not wait to see what our mares produce for us this season and to see our brand crossing that winning post in the near future. See more
