25.01.2022 This week at Deenies has been all about EKKA SHOW WEEK! We had pretend play with the food stall selling everything from felt dagwood dogs, cotton fairy floss and even pretend popcorn. The kids were entertained and tested their skills by the assortment of games down side show alley. Together we cooked fresh popcorn to eat with the popcorn machine that had us jumping like the poping kernals and home made strawberry sundaes which the children made themselves. Better than the E...KKA ones! We designed our own showbags, some chose to paint them others drew and added stickers then we filled them with all sorts of goodies to take home with us. We finished off our Show week by learning about then painting some beautiful fireworks pictures. What a fantastic show experience we've had this week. See more

20.01.2022 One of the most exciting things in the school holidays is when we have our vacation kids with us we go on an excursion to McDonald's all the kids look forward to this experience. Unfortunately due to the corona virus were aren't able to go this time. We made McDonald's come to us! setting up our own McDonald's with play food. The children took turns to serve as well ad being the customer going through the drive thru. They paid with play money and probably had a better time than visiting the real McDonald's. To add to the excitement we cooked our own nuggets and chips at home to create happy meals for lunch.

19.01.2022 A very Happy Mother's Day to all my fantastic daycare childrens mummys as well as the rest of the hard working mummys in the world. Our children were very busy being creative this week making lots of things to spoil our mums on her special day. Have a great mothers day everyone.

18.01.2022 This week the children have been very busy creating Giant Hugs to send to their grandparents that are in isolation. A lot of the children see their grandparents regularly so this is a big change for everyone. Tracing around the children created a life size hug for them to decorate and post in the mail to our families that we miss.

16.01.2022 Deenies Family Daycare will have upcoming vacancies on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in January if anyone is searching for childcare. I follow the children's interests whether it's building and learning about the body to setting up a camping area complete with a tent and fake fire to cook marshmallows on . The only limit on what we can do is the children's imaginations. We go on lots of walking excursions to playgroup, school, playgrounds, nature reserves as well as to the supermarket where the children often pick out the shopping for our weekly cooking experiences. I'm registered with Wesley mission [email protected] and am more than happy to have a chat and show you around while the kids play. Call me on 0408 768 142 or email [email protected] or send me a message on the Facebook page

12.01.2022 Last week at Deenies FDC the children and I learned all about mail. We like seeing the postie bike drop mail into people's letterboxes so we created this experience at home. The children painted and decorated a postbox to set up in our post office as well as their individual letterboxes with numbers. The children were then able to write letters and draw pictures, add a stamp to the envelope and put it in the post box. The children then played postie collecting the letters a...nd parcels to deliver to each of their letterboxes. It was such a great experience writing and getting mail that I extended this by getting the children to draw a picture for themselves and I added a few photos then the children were able to post these with real stamps in the real post box to be delivered by the real postie to their own homes. I can't wait hear about the excitement of getting mail at home to open. See more

12.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all the amazing Dads in the world. The children have been busy the past 2 weeks doing lots of paintings, making a utensil holder for dads BBQ tools, their own unique BBQ rub to go on dads fathers day steaks. As well as a few sweet treats for dad to enjoy on this special day. I hope all my daycare daddy's have a wonderful day.

10.01.2022 We have been getting into the Christmas spirit this week. The children decorated the tree with lights and baubles. Together we have made a fireplace for Santa to arrive down, painting our own bricks and adding personalised sockings. We have also created some Santa letters and cut out pictures from magazines of things we are interested in. Next week will be our excursion to visit Santa at the local shopping centre and post our letters in his mail box. Deenies FDC has some availability in the new year if anyone is looking for childcare. Let me know.

08.01.2022 Deenies FDC has vacancies coming up this year on Tuesday and Thursday. This is a fabulous time to get your child settled into a great daycare with the extension of the free childcare until mid July. Family daycare has the benefit of low numbers, this is not only great for more unique learning opportunities focused on each child's interest as well as an ability to have a more 'germ free' environment with less children coming and knowing the families more closely. We are situat...ed in the heart of Albany Creek making walking excursions to playgroup at Albany hills state school, the skate park, supermarket shopping for our cooking and lots of nature experiences very accessible to the children, when restrictions allow. I'm registered with Wesley mission scheme you can contact them on 0731516160 and also am able to provide before/After school care for Albany hills state school children. 07.01.2022 One of the activities the kids and I missed during the covid restrictions was our weekly playgroup catch up. Today was the 1st time back since 1st term and it was wonderful. A new location meeting at the local park was excellent and playing with new friends and old ones again. We did a treasure hunt, played ' whats the time Mr Wolf', echos in the drains and listened to a story. As well as flexing our big muscles using gross motor skills on all the equipment.

05.01.2022 With all the craziness in the world around Corona virus I decided today that it would be a great opportunity to talk to my almost 2 and 3 year olds about germs. We started by talking about covering our coughs and I was pleased to see them remembering to use their elbows. But we decided to add a bit of style to our cough covering adding a dabb. We then did an experiment with pepper germs in water and soap on our hands. The children were excited to watch the 'germs' run away from the soap. The children were also keen to show me how good they are at washing hands in the sink. This is a great, fun activity to show children the importance of hand washing with without scaring them about the corona virus.
