25.01.2022 Another important tip to remember today and everyday.

25.01.2022 A great start to Mental Health Week 2020 I had so much fun facilitating a mindfulness taste test Thank you for everyone attending and having me Rostrata Family Centre. 23.01.2022 Lest We Forget.

22.01.2022 Sometimes we need someone to just listen. Not to try and fix anything or offer alternatives, but just to be there and listen. #weareinthistogether

22.01.2022 Learning is a lifelong, daily and incidental pursuit. In the brief time of online learning in my home, I was aware of the challenges and the creative opportunity (which for a Mumma bear was sometimes stressful and sometimes just lovely). An interesting 5 minute read

22.01.2022 Friday Funny! [Why dont ants get sick? Because they have little anty bodies.]

22.01.2022 A rare rant from Judy.. ranting with warm regards (forgive me please)... Please adhere to spatial distancing NOT social distancing. I have been thinking, and speaking with friends and family about the concept of social distancing and how that terminology most likely reflects a political position in the context of risk management. I must say, I am NOT a fan of the terminology. Please do not get me wrong or crucify me for my anti-social distancing stance. We need to ensure... wellness! It is crucial to limit your physical distance from others. Do stay 1.5 metres apart. Do not participate in events and activities with 100 + people. Do not attend pubs, clubs and restaurants. Do undertake essential activities only. However, this is a concept of SPATIAL distancing. It is about numbers, measurements, space and utilising mathematics to help keep us all well. The psychology behind social closeness is crucial in times of stress and anxiety. So please connect via social media, online and telephones. Be socially close in ways other than geographical closeness. When I was walking my dogs today, as I often do, I was careful to take distance from others. However, I noticed an absence of the usual smiles from other walkers. We need not fear each other and we do need to be open to connect. Smile, say hi to strangers, chat to the cashier, thank the assistant on the phone...all from a safe distance... It is more important than ever. What are your thoughts? We are here to support you with warmth, safety and strategies to manage in these unprecedented times. I love the reminder below.

20.01.2022 Snap Lock Down Covid Response 1st February 2021 As a health service, and in particular a mental health service, we are focused on being well planned, prepared and responsive. As an essential service, therapy will continue to be available this week. We have strict Covid-19 management plans that include sp...atial distancing, additional cleaning in between each appointment, extra precautions in common areas and waiting outside clinic. We are very vigilant about hygiene and cleanliness in our waiting area and in our therapy rooms. If we experience any symptoms of illness, we will act quickly to take sick leave, and we will inform you with as much notice as possible. In turn, we ask that you do the same - if you experience any symptoms of illness (fever/cough/sore throat/shortness of breath), it is essential that you cancel your appointment and stay home. Types of Appointments Available: Depending upon your needs and your preference and the needs and preference of your Psychologist your appointment will either be rescheduled or offered by face to face or Telehealth (telephone or video). We are well aware of the advantages and challenges of Telehealth and your Psychologist will make an assessment as to the best possible fit at this time. For example, we are more likely to postpone appointments for children or clients less familiar with phone and video platforms. Under the government's Telehealth package, ALL AUSTRALIANS can access Telehealth for Psychology Services. Medicare rebates will continue to apply for clients who have a current Mental Health Plan. Cost of Appointments: The fee for face to face appointments and Telehealth appointments remain the same. However, we recognise the real financial struggles being faced by many. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please speak with us as therapeutic access if important. We have a concession rate to assist in difficult times. So as always, take care of yourself and practice good hygiene. If you have any questions about anything you have read here, please do not hesitate to contact. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or call us on 0418 872 283 Kindest regards, Judy, Bethany, Victoria, Kellie, Anna, Laura, Frances, Mark, Raje and Heather

20.01.2022 In response to the snap lockdown, the Chief Allied Health Officer has recommended that services be postponed where possible. Essential services can be conducted via Telehealth if postponement is not clinically workable - however all telehealth sessions must be conducted from home. As such, booked Telehealth sessions will go ahead as planned and our clinic will be closed until Monday, 8th of February. Please note our administrative support will also return on Monday. To get ...in contact, please email us at [email protected] or leave a message on 0418 872 283. We thank you for your understanding and flexibility. Kind Regards, The Team at Deep Blue Psychology

15.01.2022 If you live or work in the Rostrata area (kind of close to DB Psychology), why not join the Rostrata Town Project meeting on Saturday? DB Psychology has been part of this group since the get go (over 2 years ago) because we know how important it is to be connected and to be involved. So if you have an hour to spare on Saturday (2 to 3pm), and you are interested in local events, creating connections (big and small) and growing a vibrant community- come along. The tea, coffee, biscuits and company are pretty good too . Thanks to the Rostrata Family Centre for hosting.

15.01.2022 I just love the thinking behind this. Look for your blessings and count them. Have a lovely Friday.

15.01.2022 Our lovely receptionist had the wonderful opportunity of featuring in the Canning Examiner for her internship! Have a great weekend everyone!

14.01.2022 Over the last three weeks we are hearing a lot of talk about projects, opportunities, time to create, time to read, time to review, time management. All of that is fantastic. However, for many, that shoe does not fit. If isolation is a matter of just getting through one day at a time, one hour at a time, one moment at a time, that is the other pair of shoes. Wear what fits and know that is better than O.K. Take care. You do you.

14.01.2022 We havent moved far but we have moved. The first day in our new clinic rooms is coming to an end. We have loved the space, the windows and hearing the birds in our back garden . When I feel a big emotion, I flip my lid! (Fingers fly upwards). My amygdala is in charge. If I take deep breaths, my amygdala calms down. (Fingers close over again). My prefrontal cortex is in charge.]
