24.01.2022 Hello Blues Lovers. Happy New Year! Wishing you all joy and excitement for 2018. We can help you out with both of these things as we announce to you that we have secured our fortnightly venue. A big thank you to the Different Drummer Bar for working with us to provide Sydney with even more opportunities to dance, eat, drink, and mingle with our favourite blues friends! ... To kick off the year, Deep Blue Sydney will be holding a Blues Dance social on Sunday the 11th of March. We are kicking off a little later than planned due to all the excitement and planning we are doing for our trip to Nashville Tennessee to attend BluesGeek 2018. We can hardly wait to go, and can hardly wait to come back and share all the Blues goodness with you! Stay Tuned for more from Deep Blue Sydney.

24.01.2022 Looking to learn more about blues idioms? Then come and join us for a skillshare THIS WEEKEND. Over the course of three hours, Chelsea Adams from the USA will share how to recognize what idiom dance you should do to a variety of blues musical genres. By the end of an hour, youll know how to tell a Slow Drag song from a Savoy Walk song, a Struttin song from Texas Shuffle song. Shell also give an in-depth introduction to Texas Shuffle, focusing on the essential elements of ...the dance: partner connection points, footwork, dance positions, and some patterns to play with. On top of all that, there will be workshopping time to practice your newfound Texas Shuffle skill set and to innovate new and creative patterns in this shuffle dance. We hope youll join us!

Deep Blue Sydney will be running twice a month on Sundays starting March 11th and we need you to greet people, answer questions, take payments, record attendance, and fill water jugs! ... I DO! to any of these questions then you need FUSION DANCING in your life.... This weekend the wonderful Katie from Dance ColLab is hosting a fusion social night. It features some fantastic DJs (including Deep Blue Sydneys very own Susan), in a brilliant studio, and goes to the wee small hours for all that gooey 2am dance goodness. Dont be shy - fusion is all about mixing and matching movement with music, and all dance styles and abilities are welcome. Come and join us and get your dance on!

12.01.2022 Hearken the Blues is ON AGAIN this year, and Deep Blue Sydney is proud to be a partner helping to make this event happen. We are really excited for this event; its going to be a weekend filled with dancing, music, learning, fun, and friends. Other predictions: sneaky dances under the starlight next to a bonfire, popcorn, fairy lights, and possibly patting a horse, ... If you are feeling the lack of Blues in your life since December, and March is just too far away, you can head on down to Juke Joint Blues - 1st Thursday of every month this Thursday evening to get your gams all warmed up, and your groove a goin. If that still isnt enough, this weekend coming offers not one, but two! events to sate your soul.... Head on down the the Late night blues party Saturday night, and register for some Shhhh Secret Blues - Take 2 the following day for some quality classes in Ballroomin. See you soon!

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Deep Blue Sydney had a challenging year in 2018, with two false starts due to health and family. commitments. The good news is that the road ahead seems clear, and we are looking forward to 2019. We have spent the last few months planning for the year ahead, and are excited to announce our plans. Rather than regular classes we will be doing a speciality event of some kind approximately monthly, including practicas, skillshares, music exploration and dance partie...s! Stay tuned to this page for announcements of the events, and to hear about other Blues news from Sydney and beyond.
