24.01.2022 THE SIMPLE JOYS - THANK YOU! Well, it is the last day of our 5 week journey. Lockdown was announced to continue for a little longer for victoria, I hope that everyone is keeping safe and well.... I hope that you can keep a few of these in mind and find the Simple Joys in every single day. Even on the most darkest days, you can find one thing positive out of it, even if it is something that seems insignificant or little those simple things can help remind you, you are worthy, you are strong and you are enough! Make sure you honor all your feelings and honor others' feelings as well. Let go of Judgement of your self and of others, its a long practice but it is a worthwhile practice. Spread the love, keep connecting with those around you, be kind to yourself and others. And reach out if you ever need to. xx

Dim down un-natural light, come back to your roots, light a candle or a fire and just watch the flames, depending on how I am, sometimes I let my feelings, thoughts, concerns or worries burn away in the flames. ... Sometimes I get lost in the image of the flames moving about. I just feel that I am reconnect and rekindling ;) Enjoy the flames, enjoy a moment of stillness within yourself. xx

I am no drawer but a little while ago I felt like i needed to calm my mind and I wanted to do something a little different, so I grabbed out the colouring pencils an a5 piece of paper, and ruled out some lines, then coloured in the spaces all different colours, it was quite relaxing and there is that sense of accomplishment once completed. You don’t have to be good or amazing, just be you and appreciate what you created! ... xx

12.01.2022 The Simple Joys - Day 37 - Rhythms We are creatures of habit, we can find change a little hard, that’s where a rhythm (or routine) can be really beneficial. Think about 5 things you would like to do in the morning and 5 things you would like to do in the evening. ... For example, a morning rhythm may look like this: Drink a glass of water Make Bed Stretch Have a nutritious breakfast Breathe! If you can do 2 out of those five you are having a good day! Remember habits take time to form and when your habits include things that will make you feel good about your day. xx

Cut up some paper,( coloured if you have or perhaps colour in some paper) Place the paper with a pen next to the jar Each day write a little note on it to yourself, perhaps you could write something you are grateful for, something you achieved, song lyrics you love, positive affirmations you have come across, anything that makes you feel great. Memories of the day. Other ideas are to have a different colour for different categories of what you are writing. Perhaps you want to create one for a friend or family member. Try and do some grounding exercises; ... Place your feet on the ground Spread your toes Close your eyes BREATH Visualise sinking further down to the core of the earth, through the floor you are standing on, through the dirt, rocks, concrete, water, all the way to the centre of the earth BREATH Settle the body, the mind and the breath! If you can place your feet into the earth feel the grass and dirt between your toes, or the sand. Grounding has many benefits, more profound if you have bare feet and stand on the earth itself. It Boosts your immune system Improves Sleep Reduces inflammation Speeds healing and muscle repair And of course much much more! Get back in touch with your true nature xx

Our physical body is connected to our mental body, and when we stretch and release the physical body sometimes re-release the emotional body. For those that have experienced this before sometimes it can be very overwhelming. But for those that haven’t don’t expect it to happen, just allow the body to release physical tension. I am sure everyone has heard the you’re holding the weight of the world on your shoulders We hold our emotions and stresses in the body and it becomes tight and rigid, so allow yourself to stretch out and soften. Use your breath and release. xx

I know if may seem like a lifetime ago for those experiencing lock down, but there is nothing to say we cannot have one in our own back yard or even in the lounge room. ... Get your favourite food, set up a blanket or rug and enjoy something a little different. xx

07.01.2022 The Simple Joys - Day 34 - Check in on a friend This happens to be around the RUOK day! To be honest I am not a fan of these types of days set out to say this is when we should check in, I understand that they are a reminder and to bring awareness but how often do we do anything other than that particular day. ... Remember to check in on friends, remember to say hi how are you, remember to say I care. Remember everyday to do this, as when you do this it will come back to you and others will check in on you. The biggest thing to learn is how to respond, be prepared for an answer you may not like to hear. This doesn’t mean you have to have the answer to their situation, but that you are prepared to hold the space, you are prepared to listen, you are prepared to say I am here, what can I do to help. Also remember sometimes when people are in need they don’t know what they are in need for so the next step here is to say I can bring a meal over on Tuesday, I can meet you for a walk/coffee on Wednesday. Don’t offer something you are unable to do, make sure what you are offering you can do yourself, your energy is important as well. xx

Not sure if I am reminding you or myself, if you are like me and sometimes feel guilty about taking a rest or taking some time out DON’T we all need it, you need it to recharge, to let the body heal and rejuvenate. ... Sit on the couch, have a nap, sit in the sun, take time out for you, now if you have been like me and have had the privilege to be able to do that a lot lately due to stay at home restrictions and loss of work, spend your time appreciating what a rare opportunity this is.
