07.01.2022 We caught up with the man himself, KatsNotDogs and here's what he had to say.. What made you want to become a DJ? I used to (and still do!) search for the latest and greatest music religiously when I was younger. That in of itself was a passion of mine. I’d always share those tracks around to whoever would be willing to listen. From there my brother suggested that I become a DJ and, deep down always feeling like that was a great idea, I bought some cheap ass decks and the re...st is history. Where do you want to see yourself in next year with music? I see myself as an established producer. It’s been a long time coming but to begin making my own tunes and playing out my own tunes is the logical next step in my path. You can only become so big without producing. Who is your DJ inspiration and why? This is a hard one as I honestly don’t have that one big DJ that I look up to. Honestly, if I had to pick JUST one, I’d say Dom Dolla. He’s played at my local (Wollongong) quite a few times and now he’s just growing rapidly. His songs always pack the biggest energy and get the crowds going nuts. I’d love to be like him one day. Sometimes when I’m making a new mix I’ll put on his Tomorrowland video and place that in front of the decks to make it feel like I’m there playing too
