22.01.2022 1st XI match report Winning the toss and I elected to bowl on a another beautiful wicket from Brian Taylor we got off to a great start with Gayan striking early the rest of the wickets were shared around with a couple of run outs from some great fielding efforts except from me when I fell over the stumps on one we managed to bowl out Glenroy for 153. Going out to bat our openers got off to a great start once again before Hashan lost his wicket for 16 Alfa made a great 28 b...efore being given out caught on a catch where the ball bounced first unlucky, Angelo chipped in with a lovely 24no but the highlight goes to once again Nilochana Perera who smashed the ball around in all areas of the ground including a few massive sixes winning the game in style making 76no top effort . Fantastic start to the season winning the first 5 games puts us in a great position after the Xmas break. I hope everyone has a great and safe Xmas looking forward to seeing you all after the break for training on the 5th of Jan Merry Xmas all go Lions See more

21.01.2022 Brilliant work again by Brian Taylor!! Thanks BT

20.01.2022 First XI Match Report: Losing the toss on another brilliant Brian Taylor wicket Sunshine elected to bat. Our bowlers kept to the same plan we have every week, that is to bowl tight and we did just that restricting Sunshine to 113 and taking 10 wickets, thanks to another great spell from Angelo Emmanuel with figures of 4/18 Yoshan Kumara 2/18 Nilo Perera 1/25... Gayan de Silva 1/25 Mohammed Alfar 2 catches 1 stumping Going into bat, Sunshine put the pressure on us taking a wicket off the first ball, but once again our top order batsmen stood tall with a great 2nd wicket partnership, which saw us winning convincingly with 10 overs left, in-turn cementing top spot. Alfa Mohammad 38 Nilo Perera 32 Angelo Emmanuel 15no Yoshan Kumara 11no Great effort from all, well done

18.01.2022 B MATTING REPORT The Deer Park Cricket Club b Matting team were very competitive all season. The boys stared off well, winning their first three games. Standout performances in the first three rounds were from Prabu CV, 4 for 34 (Rd.1), Shabarish Rayker , 79 Rd.1), Karthik Sukumar, 46 (Rd.1) and 5 for 9 (Rd.2) and Prakash Nagarajan, 75 (Rd.3)... The team lost their first game of the season against Tarneit Central in Round 4 but Kingston Alfred provided a highlight making a strong 103. The team was able to bounce back against Seabrook in the following round on the back of a fine 69 from Pagalavan Senguttavaan and 4 for 33 from Gopal Muthuswamy. The team were able to win two of the remaining three games until Christmas with the highlights being Kingston Alfred making 47 against Seabrook (who we played twice in three rounds), a 55 from Karthik and a 49 from Shabrish Raykar against Wyndamvale while Prabu snared 5 for 27 in that same game. The team went into Christmas as one of the competition heavyweights, eyeing off the premiership. The 6 games after Christmas were a mixed bag with the team winning two games, drawing two due to bad weather and losing two. Unfortunately, we lost to that one team twice. Truganina were able to defeat us in Round 13 as well as in the semi-final on their way to the premiership. There were a number of strong individual performances after Christmas, with the most notable being Kingston making a brilliant 101 against Kingsville, Shabrish making 55 against Tarneit Centrals and Vinod Moses making 51 against Altona Roosters. All in all, the team’s output was a little inconsistent and they just could not play at their usual high level in the semi-final. Award winners from this team were; Batting Average Alfred Kingston 432 runs @ 30.9 Bowling Average Karthik Sukumar 16 wickets @ 15.4 All Rounder Alfred Kingston Batting Achievement; Kingston Alfred 103 vs Tarneit Central Rd. 4 and 101 vs Kingsville Rd. 12 Bowling Achievement Karthik Sukumar 5/9 vs Taylors Hill Rd. 2 Prabu CV 5/ 27 vs Wyndamvale Rd. 8

12.01.2022 If you see this message can you please spread it far and wide as we move into attracting new junior players to the Club.

11.01.2022 Given the health situation at the moment, the Club has decided to cancel the Senior Presentation Evening. This is in line with the decisions made by cricket and other sporting bodies that we need to avoid large gatherings of people in an enclosed space as well as maintain social distance from others. While no-one connected with the cricket club has been in any way connected with the coronavirus, many of us are either in a risk category or are in regular contact with others wh...o are. Therefore, to avoid any potential risk, we will cancel the presentation evening. This is particularly disappointing as we hoped for a big night in anticipation of announcing the Team of the Decade 2010-2020. Although we cannot come together one last time, to celebrate the Season that has been, we can still feel proud of what we have achieved as a Club, especially with our Junior Programs. The team's trophies, and DPCC participation medallions will be awarded to all participants in due course. Congratulations to all award winners on the wonderful effort this season. We would like to thank our Sponsors in particular The Deer Park Club, Coaches, Team Managers, Scorers, Volunteers, parents and families..... Without you, we would not be able to achieve the successes we have this season. To our Juniors we thank you for your drive and determination, and the endless smiles and enthusiasm as you take the field each week. We love that you love the game as much as we do. Let's return hungrier than ever for continued development and success, and to represent our great Club

11.01.2022 The Deer Park Cricket Club is pleased to be involved with the 'Toyota Good For Cricket Raffle' this season. There are three cars and a heap of other great prizes up for grabs at $5.00 per ticket. The great news is that the Club keeps 100% of all ticket sales. Given the effect that COVID will have on sponsorship opportunities and Cricket Club finances this season, this is a great way for Club members, supporters and friends to support the Club. Further information and ticket sales are online at https://toyotagoodforcricket.raffletix.com.au/deerparkcc?v=1 Please support this venture by buying a couple of tickets yourselves and spreading this message throughout your social media pages.

06.01.2022 C MATTING REPORT 2019-2020 The Deer Park Cricket Club Fourth XI had a very tumultuous season. The team struggled for players at various stages and several key exits from the Club saw different players take on the Captain responsibilities at various times. Through all of this, the team managed to still make the finals and provided an excellent springboard into senior cricket for several our junior players. The team stared off well, defeating the Melbourne Super Blues on the ba...ck of Ron Lapworth taking 3 for 12, Munztair Hussain taking 3 for 14 and Michel Illievski chipping in with 2 for 19. Unfortunately, the team lost the next three games. However, on a positive note a few of the Club’s future champions started to make their mark. Juniors, Jacob Kavanagh (46 in Round 2) and Ryan Lockie (45 in Round 2) were showing excellent form. SM Shah was the pick of the senior players with 44 in Round 2 and 53no in Round 4. The team hit the winners list again in Round 5 knocking over Altona Sports Club. Another junior, Mehmet Hassan was the star of the game, making an impressive 76. Ron Lapworth continued to show his excellent bowling ability taking 7 for 47 against Altona Sports Club. The team limped into the Christmas break after successive defeats. Under the leadership of A De Livera, the team managed to get back on the winners list after Christmas with the highlight being Munztair Hussain continuing to take wickets in every game. Mehmet Hassan was the star of the team’s win over Wyndham Spartans, making a fine 70no with Brian Miscevic helping out with 37no. Special mention to U/17 player Patrick Wood who made 21no in our loss in Round 13.The team did enough to make it to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, they came up against a strong Altona Sports Club. Bowling first, we managed to dismiss Altona Sports Club for 137 on the back of a fine 5 for 31 from SM Shah. Richard Phillips chipped in with 2 for 20 and Michael Hassan took 2 for 33. Unfortunately, our batting effort was not quite up to finals quality and we were unable to make this score. It was great to see 5 U/17 players represent this team during the season and we can see a huge future for all of them going forward. Trophy winners for season 2019/2020 were; Batting Average Sayed Shah 370 runs at 46.3 Bowling Average Ronald Lapworth 20 wickets at 12.45 All Rounder Sayed Shah Bowling Achievement Awards; Ronald Lapworth 7/47 vs Altona Sports Club Rd. 5 6/20 vs Wyndham Spartans Rd. 3 Sayed Shah 5/35 vs St. Johns Rd. 11
