14.01.2022 Hi all... It has been quite a while since I posted...so much going on at the end of last year...became quite time poor unfortunately... Anyway...here are some updates of what has been going on with my sewing girls... I had a new student for lessons start towards the end of last year...Grace. Here are some of her first sewing projects. She made a pencil case for her friend's birthday, a shopping bag for Mum, an apron for herself and some microwave bowl warmers. She is doing very well and look forward to watching her grow her sewing skills...!! Well done Grace...
09.01.2022 Just finished this job for a lovely lady who's Father worked at the old Onkaparinga Wool Factory. He used to bring home swatches of the wool blankets and her Mother decided to hand stitch some of them together to make a blanket. I was asked if I could fix it as it was fraying and coming apart. We decided it needed some reinforcement as it was very thin in some places. I had to unpick it all, being careful not to mix up the order, trim it up and then zigzag it back together. I then used some black linen (I overlocked the edges) to bind the edges and reinforce the joins. I think it has turned out great and will give her many more years of happy memories...!! Totally enjoyed this job...!!
01.01.2022 Just a point of clarification: we have recently had a run of campers on the Oval due to a number of apps and websites advertising this as a free site. Unfortuna...tely for the campers, the council bylaws make quite clear that camping is not permitted. Any campers will therefore be moved on and council will be erecting signs. If you know of anyone who is planning to camp at the Oval, please forewarn them so they can make other arrangements - no-one wants to disrupt people's holiday plans! Mylor Oval Committee See more
