19.01.2022 I’m now offering Deep Tissue Hot and cold Stone therapy. The Stones are another wonderful tool to help release muscles. I enjoyed this Diploma so much. Learning the history of stone therapy and how it helps a number of conditions. My favourite is for plantar fasciitis and mandible, neck and shoulder work for people who clench their jaw. It’s been a stressful few months for everyone and I’m so excited to share this therapy with my clients.

10.01.2022 Strength Sunday: Are you a runner suffering from plantar fasciitis? @dr.jacob.harden Good news strengthening of the plantar fascia can help! A 2015 study in...vestigated the effectiveness of shoe inserts and plantar fascia-specific stretching vs shoe inserts and high-load strength training in patients with plantar fasciitis. 48 patients with ultrasonography-verified plantar fasciitis were randomized to shoe inserts and daily plantar-specific stretching (the stretch group) or shoe inserts and high-load progressive strength training (the strength group) performed every second day. High-load strength training consisted of unilateral heel raises with a towel inserted under the toes. Primary outcome was the foot function index (FFI) at 3 months. Additional follow-ups were performed at 1, 6, and 12 months. At the primary endpoint, at 3 months, the strength group had a FFI that was 29 points lower compared with the stretch group. At 1, 6, and 12 months, there were no differences between groups. At 12 months, the FFI was 22 points in the strength group and 16 points in the stretch group. There were no differences in any of the secondary outcomes. A simple progressive exercise protocol, performed every second day, resulted in superior self-reported outcome after 3 months compared with plantar-specific stretching. The Protocol: * 3 seconds up on 2 feet, 2s hold at the top, 3s down on symptomatic foot. * Week 1: 3 x12reps * Week 2-3: 4x10 reps * Weeks 4+: 5x8 reps * Performed every second day, with weights added in a back pack. Take away: High-load strength training may aid in a quicker reduction in pain and improvements in function. Reference : Rathleff, M. S., Mølgaard, C. M., Fredberg, U., Kaalund, S., Andersen, K.
