16.01.2022 UPDATED GUIDELINES TO INFANT FEEDING AND ALLERGY PREVENTION. Yesterday, the MJA released an article by representatives from the Australasian Society of Clinica...l Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA) about recent updates and additions to ASCIA guidelines for infant feeding and prevention of allergy. The guidelines recommend introducing solid foods at around 6 months but not before 4 months of age when the baby is ready and introducing peanut and egg in the first year of life in all infants(including those at high risk of developing food allergy) to prevent allergy development. Some babies will still develop a food allergy. Carers of a baby with food allergy must avoid the food the baby is allergic to and follow specialist advice/GP advice. If people are unsure about advice or have concerns they are encouraged to speak with their GP or they can call 1300 66 13 12 Read more in the below article, or visit: https://preventallergies.org.au/

06.01.2022 In my classes I talk about two great apps that I see as must-haves. Today Im talking about the app, Emergency +. Emergency services encourage everyone to download this app on to their phones and I back them up and encourage people in my classes to download it ASAP. Such a great app. The beauty of having this app is that: You can call ALL emergency numbers directly from the app... The app gives your location as an address and as GPS coordinates, to pass on to emergency services. No more trying to figure out where you are. (Also good for ringing RACQ!) This is a HUGE time saver for the emergency call centre people. As soon as they have your location they can dispatch an emergency vehicle to you. Encourage everyone in your household to download the app. Make sure teenagers and young drivers have it as well. A few photos below of what is on the app.
