Our skull undergoes drastic changes as the decades pass: Eye sockets enlarge (sunken/hollow eyes) Brow ridge less pronounced (heavy eyebrows and eyelids) Reduction in midface maxillary bone and loss of projection. This means less support for our cheeks, tear troughs and smile lines (nasolabials) appear and our upper lip begins to lengthen Enlarged piriform aperture (opening of the nose) contributes to nose lengthening and tip drooping Receding jaw bones means sagging along our jawline and jowls form.
