19.01.2022 Always use a registered builder. This is why! Previous individuals installed a new sliding door larger than the previous opening. They left the orginal steel lintel in place and removed its supporting brickwork on each end. This resulted in the sliding door taking all the weight from the above brickwork. This doesn't meet the BCA standard is very dangerous and just plain wrong. Always ask the builder for his registration number, if he can't provide it, move on and save yourself the heartache. Rectification works underway.
