25.01.2022 It might be winter here in Australia but the Ashes will be upon us before you know it ...then the cricket season. If you’re wanting a new bat made to suit your style then why not try a de Lacy Cricket bat? Made in Melbourne from quality English cricket bat willow grown in Victoria, by the first female accredited cricket bat maker. Nice!
22.01.2022 I haven't been posting much lately but hope you are keeping safe and well. Strange times but we will come out the other side. I know not many of you are thinking about bats at the moment, plenty of of other things on people's minds! Happy to have a chat about potential future bat projects or if you're wanting me to visit you cricket club and chat about what I do, obviously post Covid, get in touch. In the meantime try and get out for a walk or get some time in nature to keep fit, and a bit of sanity, over the coming months and look out for each other.
21.01.2022 If you're up for a Sunday drive head up to the Merrigum Heritage Day on 8 April. I'll be demonstrating the finer art of pod shaving along with some other wonderful peeps showing some traditional crafts such as rope making and butter churning. Great for the kids and a free barbie as well! See you there.
19.01.2022 Up at Merrigum at the Heritage Festival today demonstrating the fine art of 'pod shaving'. Also got an eye out for Flo's apple cakes and freshly churned butter!
18.01.2022 Vale Elaine Sime (nee de Lacy). One of the beautiful and strong de Lacy women who inspires me. She passed away on Friday after a terrible accident where a tree fell and trapped her and her husband while on their daily walk. Our hearts go out to Stuart and their two sons, and the whole de Lacy clan. Safe travels Elaine.
16.01.2022 A little quiet lately due to moving location. Not far away, back to Merlynston (Coburg North). Happy to hear from people and can take orders but won't be back up and running until the new year. Happy cricketing in the mean time.
16.01.2022 By the by I will just be doing a demo up at the Merrigum Heritage Festival not taking classes as said in the article in the Kyabram News. Happy to have s chat though or take orders. Look forward to being there. Drop by if you're in the area or up for a Sunday drive.
15.01.2022 Cricket season is coming so check out the de Lacy Cricket website.
14.01.2022 Have been a bit quiet of late post moving but back on the tools! Hoping the start to your year is going well. Here's one for the diary, a little in advance but I am excited I'll be demonstrating the fine art of pod shaving at the Merrigum Heritage Festival 8 April 2018. It's just west of Shepparton about 2hr north of Melbourne. A great day for the family or those who love old trades. I'll share the post when they've got it up. I will be selling bats and taking orders as well. Cheers
12.01.2022 Time to start getting onto any cricket bat repairs, spruce up, weight reduction (of your bat that is...), or a new bat for the season. This one's looking the goods after a nip and tuck ...ready for training!
12.01.2022 If you’d like a great Sunday drive to check out some heritage makers on show, and of course a friendly country vibe, pop up to Merrigum, up near Shepparton. I’ll be up there demonstrating the finer art of pod shaving too!
10.01.2022 A journalist mate, Georgia Isaac, took this photo last year of me talking about my bats. Love it!
09.01.2022 When you buy a quality cricket bat and look after it, it will keep rewarding you time and again. After some sanding by yours truly and a bit of linseed, new grip and stickers (love the design by the by) by Stu (the owner of this fine bat) it has come up a treat! Ready for next season!
09.01.2022 A very excited Kat with her new de Lacy bat. I'm also thrilled at having the pleasure of making a bat for this up and coming star! I hope it makes many runs for you!
