03.01.2022 TAKE A PEEK : CASCARA While we all know (and love) coffee, there is actually another, less popular coffee drink in town that not a lot of people know about : Cascara Tea. Coffee beans are seeds of a fruit, commonly called a coffee cherry. During the processing stage of coffee the cherry is pulped from the seed. That seed goes on to be roasted and becomes the coffee we all know and love, while unfortunately the cherry too often gets thrown out or composted.... Even though it comes from the same fruit, Cascara and coffee taste completely different. They both have caffeine but that is where the similarities end. Cascara has very little to no bitterness and is very sweet, it is often compared to herbal tea rather than coffee.
