25.01.2022 Hi guys bit rough around these days with the old Rona virus. Just thought I'd bring some different news. Recently here at Delica Garage QLD we finished a custom made wheel Carrier to suit this immaculate DeliBus. Made strong and durable and fully powder coated to last for as long as possible.
25.01.2022 Good evening Chapps and Chappetts. Latest Delica garage QLD fully Custom Spare wheel carrier. Customer had a pretty odd request but even still as always customised to your desires and needs. Probably the first and last wheel carrier to incorporate a Removable snow Board mount. ... BTW the customer drew the CAD Drawings And big thanks to Tony Kissell for the hard work in fabrication and welding and Ipswich city Auto Electrical for the lights and wiring.
24.01.2022 Hello to the world of Facebook. Sorry I have not posted for a while but it's been crazy busy here at the shop. Anyways Just dropping in quickly to remind people Timing belts are a pretty crucial parts of most over head cam engines. This particular belt was due for a service over 100000kms ago. Having missed a timing belt service can lead to major engine failure and this particular Mitsubishi is very lucky it showed up when it did.
23.01.2022 ***NOTICE*** At this point the country is aware of the current crisis, so aside from asking that you all refrain from keeping your appointments (we are happy to reschedule) if you are or have been unwell and keep up with your serial hand washing, I feel I must also let you know that the workshop itself has been hit with the "NoTPVirus!" So I'm extremely sorry to say that if you haven't brought your own toilet rolls, you're s**t outta luck and can't use our loo. As it is, the... workshop boys are on their last roll, I'm now organising a roster as to who's drawn the 1ply to bring in tomorrow's roll, and they're on a 2 square per person limit. Love to all, Danica Xx
20.01.2022 Hey guys hope your all well. Do you own a v6 Mitsubishi? Got the timing belt changed at 100000kms but not spark plugs? Maybe worth getting them done. These plugs are Iridium so designed for high heat and longer service life but not forever. This particular vehicle had some pretty shocking fuel economy and was breaking down under load. Probably due to the original plugs being still in the engine at 300000 kms. Remember guys maintenance is key to prolonging the life of your vehicle
18.01.2022 Hey peeps just a couple of awesome rigs to come in over the last couple weeks. The black van is a before and after with standard suspension and tyres going up to and 50mm Delica Garage Lift kit and a lovely set of black dynamic round hole wheels and 31x10.5r15 Falken At3w The silver van is a late model s3 with twin sliding doors. Customer requested the same 50mm lift kit with Air bag man Air bags. To top it off we went with a set of 5 Alloy CSA Rims wrapped in the Same Flaken... At3w but in a 265/70r16 Just putting it out there. These vans drive amazing with lift kits and wheel packages fitted. Handle better on and off road, drive smoother and look soo good.
16.01.2022 Is your exhaust system on your Diesel Delica starting to split along the seam. Is it rusty and starting to fall apart? Delica Garage has been working with Scott's Rods in Ipswich to bring you complete bolt on replacement exhausts. These kits are made using 2.5inch 409 stainless tube with mild steel 8mm plate flanges. The kit will consist of 3 - 4 pieces flanged for ease of fitments And shipping Australia Wide... A double braided flex joint and a sports muffler will be used in the exhaust kit. We have the option to delete muffler if you want a more sporty sound. We will have 10 systems ready by mid Jan and at the moment only fit Short Wheel Base series 1, and 2. Long wheel base systems will hopefully be ready end of Jan.
15.01.2022 Hellllloooo every body. How's your fuel filter going? Had it changed in the last couple years? Or did you recently acquire a vehicle and unsure of its service history? Maybe it's worth checking or replacing! ... This one is a fresh import with absolutely no service history. Glad we checked and changed this one when we did. We recommend replacing a diesel fuel filter every 20000 to 30000kms and a petrol filter where possible every 50000kms. If your fuel filter has not been changed recently we highly recommended that you get it checked and changed. Especially before anything serious or major happens and repairs becomes a lot more costly.
14.01.2022 On today's talk we are going to discuss L400 Delica lift kits. This a common topic discussed on local forums and the most common question is how much does it lift my van? Weeeellllll here it is. Had a bit of time today and this might take a while to get through and understand. This is a 50mm lift with 31 inch Tyres. ... So here it is. A very basic Mitsubishi Delica L400 4X4 van. Has only the seats and very simple light weight camp set up in the back which I estimate to be similar in weight to the rear seats. The kit we sell includes. - Dobinsons heavy duty Torsion bars - Dobinsons or EFS Extended length Heavy Duty Front shock absorbers - Shortened upper Bumps stops to all Allow for extra wheel Droop in Front - Modified Torsion Bar anchors to stop the Bracket Separating - Dobinsons Heavy Duty 50mm Coil springs - Dobinsons or EFS Extended Length Heavy Duty Rear shock absorbers with Washers to stop Bushes Separating - Extended Length greasble Heavy duty rear Sway Bar Links - Brake Bias Modification Kit. In this gorgeous van we fitted the EFS Shocks and also got a full 31inch wheel and Tyre Package. Now every single van is different. Age, Van Spec (High Roof, low roof, long wheel base or short wheel base, glass roof or not) and weight being carried will vary the out come on almost every vehicle. But I did say for this exercise, basic factory Spec van above.
13.01.2022 So as some of you are aware, our beloved boss man Jonno has given himself some time off and left me (the missus) and our boys in the workshop for a week Any technical questions will have to wait until he gets back or you can direct them to Ben at Delica Garage Geelong. As we're booked out until early- mid October, depending on the job, I can of course still book you in Have a fun break Jonno, you deserve it!
10.01.2022 Water pumps. Seems like a good idea to replace them from time to time but if your gunna do so. Make sure you don't skimp on a cheaper product. Try to always buy a genuine item or at least check for a cast impeller like GMB before purchasing.
07.01.2022 Sooo over the last 7 days I have left the workshop in the capable hands of my wife and work mates. Mean while in a nicer part of Queensland I decided to do some relaxing. Here is a couple of photos from the trip. Fraser Island is massive too so for anyone wanting to do this trip take lots of fuel and supplies.... Saturday and Sunday we set up in Zone 2 Gabalba and had a pretty shit run of weather getting drenched by heavy rain on and off most of the day and night. On Monday We went for our first big drive to Eli Creek, Ngkala rocks, Sandy Cape and platypus Bay. Without local knowledge Platypus Bay is hard to find. But glad we found it, an amazing piece of paradise. We caught a couple fish up sandy Cape but nothing spectacular. We raced the in coming tide from platypus Bay back to camp and by the time we got to Eli Creek the tide was almost at its highest leading us to having to do a over bonnet deep crossing. Filled my rh head light full of water. Tuesday we had a bit of a relaxing day trying our hand at beach fishing and getting nothing except copious amounts of sea weed and a bucket full of pipis. On Wednesday we made a trip to Central Station and had a look at the invisible creek. Followed by a trip to Lake Mackenzie for a good long soak in some extremely cold but fresh water. We then went off to happy Valley for a bloody awesome afternoon burger lunch and beer in the tavern. After finishing lunch we went back up to the maheno (Large Rusty boat, near as rusty as some vans we have seen) Thursday we made a big trip through the giants drive then onto Lake Birrabean and the other 2 lakes. Can't remember their names. Then onto Deep creek. Deep Creek was pretty awesome seeing the a different side to the island and actually catching a real fish. Managed to back into a tree while parking van so be needing a new rear window of any one knows where to get one. Now back on the main land, home, clean and ready for a nap. Recommend Fraser Island to anyone wanting so see a vast array of different landscapes, history and sand. The eastern side of the island is completely different to the west. To do all trips and take in what the island has to offer, 2 weeks or more would be needed. Both Delicas (mine and my brothers) did amazing. The long range fuel tank in my bus made a huge difference as fuel is 2.40$ per litre. All up from the Gold nugget in Gympie to the island all the tracks we did and back to the Gold nugget we used 108 litres and travelled 614kms. We had 18psi in tyres and actually used 4wd maybe 8 times. We will be back maybe in a few years.
