23.01.2022 I said last week that I was working on Byron Bay lighthouse - well here she is! A sister for Macquarie Lighthouse. After the precision of painting the lighthouses it was fun to lash out with the paint and create some Jellyfish. My cat is still watching and waiting for them to move!!
22.01.2022 This painting of Macquarie Lighthouse is off to its new owner who lives near the lighthouse in Sydney. I was thrilled to find fabric for the gift bag that matches the wind indicator on top of the lighthouse! Sweet!
20.01.2022 So rewarding when boat owners love your work. This was given as a thank you this week by the new owner of a boat to the previous owner. I started with a chart of Moreton Bay and an old photo of the Costin 31. Despite the best efforts of my cat to sabotage my layout, the results got a very emotional response. I am so happy he loved it!!
10.01.2022 Put the paintbrush down to go sailing and to help a friend fix his new boat this week. But I managed to paint the beautiful old Macquarie Lighthouse at South Head, Sydney Harbour. Byron Bay lighthouse is next!
09.01.2022 An artist once said to me that a painting is never really finished. I think that is true! So I am using this isolation time to just do some little improvements to my paintings. This week I worked on my Sydney to Hobart paintings. They are now sealed in their glassed frames so they are now officially finished. I loved painting Comanche - her style and lines are beautiful and the painting design on the hull is such fun! Cape Raoul is such an iconic place for Sydney to Hobart photos and such an wonderful landmark. I think these are great gifts for the man/woman who has everything!
05.01.2022 Three paintings off to their new owners today! I am presenting them in my new hand-made nautical bags with gift card. Must admit I wasnt prepared for the separation issues - a couple of those paintings really came from my heart!
05.01.2022 This painting is not for sale but is a reflection of the time I took 3 months out of my business to sail and travel in the Caribbean. I competed in the Heineken Cup then island hopped for 3 months. Here are some images of the influences in the painting. The Rastafarian was my water taxi driver on the little island of Bequia who did drug deals along the way (not for me)!!! Enjoy the images!!!
