If yo...u are now in Tasmania and have been in South Australia at any time since Monday 9 November, you should immediately self-isolate in your residence or accommodation. People who have registered with Tas e-Travel will be contacted by SMS with further advice. If you are affected, please check the latest advice on the Tasmanian coronavirus website; https://coronavirus.tas.gov.au/ If you are in Tasmania and have recently been in South Australia please be alert for symptoms of coronavirus. If you experience any symptoms, even if they are mild, contact the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 to arrange a test. Anyone arriving from South Australia from today will at this stage be required to enter quarantine. Further information is expected from South Australia Health and national discussions later today. There will be a further announcement later today when further information is available.

07.01.2022 Important coronavirus test information Any Tasmanian who has been referred for a coronavirus test by their GP in the past few days and has yet to receive furthe...r contact should call the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 to arrange their test. A technical error has affected the GP referral system for Tasmanian Department of Health coronavirus testing clinics, and referrals made between Thursday 20 August and yesterday have not been properly processed, and test bookings may not have been made for some patients within the normal timeframes. Anyone affected by this should continue to isolate and contact the Public Health Hotline. The Department has also notified GPs and requested that they re-process any referrals that may have been affected. GP referrals to Tasmanian Department of Health testing clinics are the only GP referrals that have been affected. All other referrals have been processed as normal. The Department sincerely apologises to any patients who have been affected by this issue, which has now been resolved.

01.01.2022 Public Health Services notes South Australia’s progress in managing an outbreak of coronavirus, with extensive contact tracing and testing appearing to contain ...the risk. It also notes the announcement today by South Australian authorities of some easing of the state’s lockdown restrictions earlier than originally planned. However, SA authorities expect to see further cases among close contacts over the coming days as their investigations progress. This means that Tasmania continues to require people who left SA on or after 7 November to remain in self-isolation for 14 days after leaving South Australia. Any person who arrived in Tasmania on or after 16 November will need to remain in home or hotel quarantine. Public Health Services will continue to review SA’s responses and case count over the weekend and will issue further advice to the public on Monday.
