13.01.2022 After a huge weekend of local footy we would like to wish the Deloraine Kangaroos Football Club our enormous congratulations for their grand final win yesterday, as long term sponsors we are proud of the efforts of the galant under 21 team and the winning Seniors side. The decision to hold the NTFA grand final at Deloraine was a due to the hard work of the club, no more so than the Deloraine Junior Football Club who leveraged funding from the Community Bank to obtain grant funding for the purchase of two demountables change rooms, allowing for the continued expansion of football in Deloraine, and in particular to ensure appropriate facilities for women’s football. Finally, the finals campaign continues and we wish the U/14s the best in their grand final this coming weekend at Longford.

02.01.2022 Our branch staff profiles are proving very popular and we are sure this one will not disappoint. It is time to introduce you to Judy. Name: Judy Hawkes Current Position: Customer Service Officer What was your background before coming to work at Deloraine & Districts Community Bank? After graduating from the University of Tasmania, I worked as a Senior Secondary Mathematics teacher at Burnie High, Devonport High and the Don College. After leaving the public education system,... I tutored Mathematics in a private capacity for several years in the Deloraine and Devonport areas, in addition to teaching in a relieving position at Scotch Oakburn College. I also owned and operated a B&B establishment for 3 years and, just prior to working at the Deloraine & Districts Community Bank, I worked for approximately 9 months at the Deloraine CBA. What do you like most about working here at Deloraine & Districts Community Bank? I enjoy feeling part of the community and being able to walk down the street and greet people by name. I love helping our customers achieve their goals and make their banking easier. The Deloraine branch has great working environment, and the support and appreciation we get from our MVFS Board make our efforts even more rewarding. I also work with a great bunch of people and I consider them more as friends than colleagues. Family: Husband Mike and about 19 Notamacropus rufogriseus (Bennetts wallabies!!) Hobbies: Weight training (P90X), walking/hiking, travelling, learning languages Tell us one interesting and unusual thing about yourself! In the late 1970s I used to be the lead guitarist of an all-girl band/pop group called Cinnamon. We were spicy, but sweet!!!! We even played a few gigs at the Hagley Hotel and the Deloraine Football Club so, for those of you who were there in 1978, you might remember me!!! See more

01.01.2022 After a busy few months and our exciting branch renovations, we thought we should get back to our branch staff profiles. We would like to introduce you to Brittany, one of our friendly Customer Relationship Officers. Name: Brittany Cameron Current Position: Customer Relationship Officer What was your background before coming to work at Deloraine & Districts Community Bank? I was a personal lender within a call centre.... What do you like most about working here at Deloraine & Districts Community Bank? That would be the staff and customers. I have never worked in such an accepting and friendly environment. It is a great balance between hard work and fun every day! Township of Residence: I am a proud Deloraine girl now. Hobbies: I am probably one of the most random girls you will ever come across, one day I might be covered in dirt out in the bush wood cutting and the next day I might be having my hair and nails done. If I’m honest though my all time favourite thing, is to take off to random Tassie beaches and lakes for the weekend on a camping and fishing mission and out fish my partner who is a fishing fanatic. Tell us one interesting and unusual thing about yourself! I am completely and utterly obsessed with Llamas, from my fluffy Llama PJ’s right down to my newly ordered Llama Debit card. Why? Well, when I was a little girl my mum and dad took me to the zoo. My dad put me on his shoulders to get some photos taken as I was absolutely petrified of the huge camel that kept coming up to us. Anyway, mid photo a Llama came out of nowhere, made the funniest noise and spat right onto my dads face. Fair to say I have never gotten over this and the photo has just gotten so much funnier the older I get. I just think they are great and absolutely hilarious ever since. See more
