There are plenty of books about the first day of school, such as: Starting School by Jane Godwin and Anna ...Walker I am too absolutely small for school by Lauren Child My First Day of School by Meredith Costain First Day by Andrew Daddo; and "Spot Goes to School" by Eric Hill. 22.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that attended our celebration in the park! It was a fabulous day. Photos will be on our website in the next couple of days. There are a few lovely photos of the ducklings coming to visit our Little Learners. Important Announcement: LiL will continue to be held on a Wednesday for 2021. We are hoping that we will be back to weekly sessions for our Little Learners. Little Learners (0-3) will be 9am - 10:30am and Pre-Kinder will be 11am - 12:30pm. An additional Pre-Kinder session will be added later in the year.

22.01.2022 Hello LiL families Sorry I missed you all for our first session back. My voice has returned now, so I can sing along and catch up at our next session. This year, DPS Launching into Learning will be celebrating book week by inviting children to dress up as a favourite book character. The theme of book week is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. Dressing up is optional but we would love to see some curious creatures on Wednesday! 0-3: If you are in group A, then we invite you to... dress up the following week. Pre-Kinder: A reminder that enrolment forms are now due in. Read, Talk, Play Everyday



20.01.2022 This Wednesday is National Simultaneous Storytime! All our classes at DPS will be reading along. As we won't be able to read Chicken Divas at LiL. We encourage you to tune in to Launceston Library at 11 for a live reading of Chicken Divas. I will remind you and send through a link on Wednesday morning.

20.01.2022 Hi LiL families :) Our craft packs were very popular and the photos that we received for our LiL gallery were fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing! We will be giving one more art and craft pack before the holidays. Collection will be next Wednesday outside our LiL room. (this time you can specify on registration if you would like it to go with a sibling or alternate pick up). ... You can register for the packs in the same way as last time. Head to our new LiL page via the DPS website. 19.01.2022 - : At Deloraine Primary School we use School Stream as our parent communication app. If you have not already done so, please download the app and sign up for an account. We have a Pre-Kinder section on there which we will be using to send you information for Kinder next year. Don't forget to tag and share with other Pre-Kinder families



19.01.2022 Play dress-ups! Get your child ready and excited for school by playing dress ups in their uniform and school shoes. You can break in those new shoes at the same time to avoid blisters on their first day. #ReadyForSchool #TheNextStep #TasGovEducation #LearnersFirst

13.01.2022 Wednesday 18th at LiL: 0-3 Little Learners (group B): A reminder that this is our last session at school for the year as we will be having a celebration at the park on Dec 2nd. Pre-kinder: We have had a slight change in our parent information schedule and this week will be an outside tour around the school followed by a meeting with our Principal to talk to parents about Kinder 2021 and answer any questions they may have. ... 10.01.2022 Launching into Learning End of Year Celebration in the Park! Join us for an end of year celebration! We will play, sing and dance in the park followed by a picnic and story! Anyone from our 0-3 Little Learners and Pre-Kinder are welcome. Please remember to follow physical distancing guidelines and keep 1.5 metres from other people. When: Wednesday December 2 Time: 0-3 Little Learners: 9:30am to 11:00am ... Pre-Kinders: 11:30am to 1:00pm Where: Train Park, Deloraine What to bring: hat, sunscreen, snacks, drink and maybe a picnic blanket if you have one! 04.01.2022 Important Announcement from the DoE: Launching into Learning (LiL) sessions on school sites will not run for the remainder of Term 2. A decision on when families can return to on-site LiL sessions will be guided by continued advice from Public Health. We will let you know as soon as there is a firm start back date and what that may look like in our context.

04.01.2022 ! We now have a few more Christmas Crackers for our SRC fundraiser to sell for those that missed out in the first round - Get in quick! Please complete the form on School Stream or comment below with the amount and send money in an envelope to the office tomorrow to receive your crackers. These can be sent home with children or collected from the office. ... Crackers are $1 each with a limit of 5 per family.

03.01.2022 Big Announcement!! We are very excited to announce the launch of our new webpage; LiL at Home. I have sent out an email to all our registered LiL families with how to access our new Webpage. It is password protected so that we can read lots of stories to you! YAY! Here you will find a range of Sing Along nursery rhymes, Read Along stories and Nurse chats. We will soon be adding a Craft Along section and a Photo Gallery. We have organised Home Activity Packs for interested fam...ilies to be collected next Wednesday. As well as our Home Activity Packs, we are delighted to be giving each child a storybook to take home. 01.01.2022 Great to see that Westburty Play Gym is up and running again July 30th. If you haven't been then I would highly recommend it, as it is a great way to develop childrens gross motor skills. The team of friendly volunteers set up a fabulous array of equiptment. It can get chilly for the adults so rug up. Have you enrolled for LiL next term yet? Thanks to the many that have. If you can't remember how, or you are not on our email list then send us a messege. Looking forward to getting back up and running next Wednesday!
