22.01.2022 WATER ALERT With the hot dry conditions it is important to maintain a good clean source of water for livestock. Livestock performance can be affected by poor quality water and as a general rule if you would not drink the water yourself you cannot expect livestock to drink the water. Livestock prefer water that is cooler than their body temperature and as a guideline sheep require up to 12lt/hd/day and cattle up to 140lt/hd/day. If you would like assistance to plan livestock water infrastructure, please contact your Delta Ag branch.

18.01.2022 Urgent update. 4/1/20 Apparently Yaven Ck Rd and Ellerslie Rd are currently closed . No hay deliveries on Saturday, hopefully will be open Sunday. Local friends..., farmers and truckies! Dunns Rd fire, Yaven Creek hay run. As you all know the Dunns Rd fire has completely gutted many areas and is still going. With a lot of farming friends and it being almost under control in the Yaven Creek area Im looking to help organise some feed up to that area this weekend, there is a lot of other stuff those poor buggers are going to need but I reckon with those stock that have survived, feed will be one of the first. Im planning on taking a load up Sunday and if anyone else can donate some, Ill come and pick it up too. There will be tractors available to unload other days as well if someone else has got a load sooner. Rod Lucas is also on the job and we are talking with Dan McDonnell from Elders who is working with farmers to organise LLS compensation thats available but worried it might take awhile, thought we better pull the trigger on getting some food moving first.
