25.01.2022 The job radar is looking good, think Ill be using the little drill rig on this one.

23.01.2022 Think I have just found the ultimate machine as a carrier for a rock drill attachment.

23.01.2022 So you want me to get a 5 meter x 12 meter back yard swimming pool in here... I feel tired already.

20.01.2022 A blast from the past, fire access works in 2015. Be careful of the trees they said, we dont want the trees damaged and if you could keep a lot of the rock on the track so that we can use it, that would be good also. I guess that worked out fairly well.

20.01.2022 Slow motion blast video

19.01.2022 Here is one for Throwback Thursday, what a classic!

19.01.2022 This week at Demolition Dave there was two fairly mundane jobs not worthy of a post and a "launch it all" job that did not go really well first time, though we won in the end, but good from a spectator perspective. https://youtu.be/Z9N-kRYlOz8

18.01.2022 The new year is off to a great start. https://youtu.be/N-HKpg22sU4

18.01.2022 Primarily Im an explosives contractor, but in the final analysis I just break rocks in whatever way best suits the customer. In this job I used an expanding chemical cracking agent. This was an ideal opportunity to use the DJI Osmo camera in time-lapse mode to see the expando doing the work of splitting the rock. Sorry that I had to grab the camera early as it is about to rain heavily.

17.01.2022 Just passing by some nice presplits on Southface Road, drilled back in 2007.

16.01.2022 "So we have laid the storm water drains and sewer, now we have to box out the road and there is a great big rock in there... can you blast that out for us without destroying the drains"? "Err... yeah... but you realise that we will have to use a million small diameter short holes to do it safely dont you..." - Such is life. R32/28 drill rod and 38mm R28 head, problem solved.

16.01.2022 Shot #4 at Bunyip, 43 holes

12.01.2022 Another little road improvement job from long ago, Dave and Greg destroying the world one rock at a time. No, seriously the road was under the minimum trafficable width by current standards and was thus upgraded.

08.01.2022 Now here is an idea for carrying the stemming.

08.01.2022 After 25 months of council delays and interference we finally got to blast the hard rock on Matts home site. 4 meter deep 38mm diameter holes all drilled with my little excavator mounted drill mast.

08.01.2022 If it is too big to dig and Too hard to break, call Demolition Dave

07.01.2022 My friend Ryan Davis of Maverick Blasting Consultants in Polokwane South Africa has been busy doing a lot of trenching in recent times. Great drone shot Ryan. https://youtu.be/EuDTFH7fh9Q

06.01.2022 Fellow Blaster, Ryan Davis from Maverick Blasting Consultants in Polokwane South Africa has a YouTube channel just like mine that deserves more views, where nearly all of my work uses regular high explosives, Ryan also uses a lot of propellant based explosives. https://youtu.be/2VeMgyCJSc4

02.01.2022 Another impossible excavation made easy with the carefull application of high explosives

02.01.2022 Another small subdivision project. The Atlas Copco Panther hammer has just had a rebuild and once more it punches down small diameter holes much much quicker than a hand drill.
